What does a Sales Manager do?
The Sales Manager will be fully responsible to drive the Protective Packaging business in France, by implementing the strategic business plans and reaching the assigned AOP. They will lead a team of sales executives and sales specialists looking after direct customers and a strong network of Channel Partners, with total ownership of AOP achievement and new business development. The role involves driving the team through annual contract negotiations with customers and Channel Partners, assigning individual targets to Sales Reps, monitoring results versus targets, providing feedback, and defining corrective actions when needed.
Why we need you?
Build up and maintain regular contact with all relevant stakeholders at our Channel Partners and Key Accounts to secure business development in France. Travelling no less than 60% of the time is required.
Define and drive the targets of each Sales Executive, reviewing on a regular basis the plans each Sales Executive defines to reach the assigned target by area, profit centre, and distributor/key accounts.
Ensure proper communication and information flow with Marketing Portfolio, Service Engineering, Customer Service, Supply Chain, Finance, and HR to secure proactive cross‑functional cooperation.
Design the best strategic route to achieve both short‑term AOP and long‑term plans in the country, combining strategic vision and business acumen to assess opportunities, streamline/optimise route to market, product mix, and pricing management, thereby maximizing long‑term growth and profit.
Ensure discipline and timely management in reporting all relevant business KPIs (opportunities, wins, losses, risks, etc.) using C4C and all relevant tools that the company uses and will implement.
Ensure team members are motivated, engaged, coached and trained to deliver expected results, with development plans in place to ensure talent retention and attraction. Address low performers with corrective actions.
Your profile
- 10+ years of Industrial B2B Sales Management
- Strategic thinker, yet a hands‑on manager with a deep understanding of daily operations
- Strong negotiation and value‑selling skills
- Strong knowledge of distribution sales model
- Excellent business acumen and P&L understanding
- Data‑driven decision maker, familiar with use of CRM tools
- Leadership and coaching skills, motivates the team and drives talent management
- Customer‑centric with deep understanding of customers and distributors’ business and operations
- Fluent in English; knowledge of Spanish and/or Italian is a plus
