Position
Opto Engineering is looking for a Sales Engineer to drive business growth in the French market .
The selected candidate will be responsible for achieving sales targets within the assigned area, managing and developing the existing customer portfolio, and identifying new business opportunities in the field of machine vision systems.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop new business opportunities by identifying prospective customers, target industries, and potential applications for Opto Engineering’s products and technologies
- Proactively generate and qualify leads through market research, prospecting, and direct outreach
- Build strong relationships with existing customers, ensuring their growth, satisfaction, and long-term loyalty through both remote support and on-site visits
- Prepare tailored commercial proposals and lead contract negotiations
- Manage the full sales cycle, from lead qualification to deal closing, ensuring timely follow-up and an excellent customer experience
- Represent the company at customer meetings, industry events, and trade fairs
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date sales activities and opportunities in the company CRM
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Physics, or another scientific field, or equivalent professional experience
- Driving license
- Experience in a technical sales role at least of 3 years
- Excellent knowledge of French language (at least at C1 level, both written and oral)
- Analytical Problem-Solving & Decision Making – able to research, analyze, identify viable options, draw sound conclusions, and make appropriate recommendations
- Results Orientated – Proven ability to set and exceed sales targets, develop new business and manage account relationships
- Customer Service & Relationship Management – ability to provide a high level of service to customer base/market, building relationships and a referral network within a territory
- Strong work ethic and a team player
- Positive, resilient and able to adapt quickly and easily in an ever-changing environment
- Availability for approximately 50% travel, primarily in the Lyon-Geneva-Dijon area
- Motivated and energetic
