Sales Engineer

Position Overview
The Sales Engineer in the Auvergne‑Rhône‑Alps area will be responsible for driving technical sales, providing exceptional customer support and account management for customers in aerospace, defence, space and other mission‑critical markets. This role will focus on understanding customer needs, delivering tailored technical solutions, and achieving sales targets. The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering background, excellent communication skills, and experience in technical sales. We are also seeing a great deal of interest and opportunity in nuclear and other critical industry markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Sales: Develop and execute technical sales strategies to meet company goals and targets in the Auvergne‑Rhône‑Alps region.
- Customer Support: Provide technical support and guidance to customers, assisting with product selection, application, and integration.
- Market Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities, expanding Glenair’s presence in the Lyon market.
- Solution Selling: Work closely with customers to understand their technical requirements and propose effective solutions using Glenair’s product portfolio.
- Account Management: Manage and nurture existing accounts, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and long‑term relationships.
- Sales Forecasting: Prepare accurate sales forecasts and reports, providing insights and recommendations to the French Sales Manager.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams, including engineering, product development, and customer service, to ensure a seamless customer experience.
- Trade Shows and Events: Represent Glenair at industry trade shows, conferences, and events to promote products and network with potential clients.
- Training: Conduct product training and technical presentations for customers and partners.
- Compliance: Ensure all sales activities comply with company policies and industry regulations.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related field).
- Experience: Minimum of 3‑5 years of technical sales experience in the aerospace, defence, or other mission‑critical markets.
- Technical Skills: Strong technical background with the ability to understand and explain complex products and solutions.
- Communication: Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Travel: Willingness to travel extensively within the Auvergne‑Rhône‑Alps, and occasionally to other locations as required.
- Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of engineering principles and technical sales processes.
- Customer Focus: Commitment to providing exceptional customer service and technical support.
- Problem‑Solving: Ability to identify and resolve technical issues efficiently and effectively.
