We’re excited to be recruiting for a Health and Safety Manager to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced health, safety and environmental professional, perfect for someone passionate about creating a safe working environment, driving compliance, and embedding a strong safety culture across manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

  • Drive Health, Safety and Environment performance improvements across the manufacturing unit to achieve agreed KPI targets.
  • Ensure site Health, Safety, Environment and Security policies and management systems are maintained and compliant with all relevant legislation and internal standards.
  • Monitor and embed HSE management processes, including incident reporting, investigation, corrective actions, and lost‑time incident management.
  • Ensure that all Health, Safety and Environment incidents are reported in accordance with regulatory requirements and within required timeframes.
  • Lead site HSE audit programmes, monitor compliance, and recommend continuous improvement actions.
  • Manage relationships with key external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies, customers, and local communities.
  • Develop and deliver the site's Health, Safety and Environment improvement plan in partnership with the leadership team.
  • Ensure all capital projects adequately address Health, Safety and Environment requirements in line with company policies and insurance obligations.
  • Develop and implement behavioural safety and environmental awareness initiatives across all departments.
  • Support the site leadership team in building and maintaining a positive safety culture.

Qualifications

  • National or professional qualification in Health, Safety and Environment, ideally degree‑level or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in an HSE advisory or management role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of current Health, Safety and Environmental legislation and best practice.
  • Demonstrated track record of implementing successful HSE improvement initiatives.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage colleagues at all levels of the organisation.
  • Experience leading investigations, audits, and compliance activities.
  • Proactive, organised, and solutions‑focused approach.
  • Strong relationship‑building skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Passionate about creating a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Language Requirements

French fluency is essential, as this is a Pléchâtel‑based site leadership role. The successful candidate will work closely with French‑speaking operational teams, managers, and external stakeholders and must be comfortable delivering training, leading investigations, conducting audits, and communicating on a daily basis in French.

Intermediate English is desirable, as the role forms part of an international HSE function and includes regular collaboration with UK‑based colleagues and wider Group stakeholders.
