Robotics Field Engineer
Overview
Join Nio Robotics' vision of next-gen robotics — we are looking for a talented and passionate Robotics Field Engineer .
Seniority & profile
- 2 to 5 years of professional experience deploying, commissioning, or servicing complex robotic or mechatronic systems in the field
- Strong generalist profile across mechanical, electrical, and software — comfortable reading a schematic, debugging a ROS node, and tightening a bolt in the same afternoon
- Solid troubleshooting instincts: able to diagnose a failure on a customer site with limited information and restore the robot to production quickly
- Comfortable with Linux, Python, and reading C++; familiarity with ROS/ROS2 is a strong plus
- Customer-facing mindset — calm under pressure, clear communicator, able to represent Nio Robotics directly inside partner facilities
- Fluent in French and English (working with both local customers and the international team)
- Engineering degree or equivalent practical experience
- Available to travel on customer sites across France roughly 30% to 50% of the time (occasional EU trips)
As a field engineer, you will be the face of Nio on customer sites, working on
- Development of application software from trajectory generation with a specific tool equipped on Aru, to context aware navigation.
- On-site deployment and commissioning of Aru as part of our Early Adopter Program — from unboxing to first productive mission
- Diagnosing and resolving issues in the field across the full stack (mechanics, electronics, perception, control, software) and keeping customer uptime high
- Training customer operators to use Aru safely and effectively, and producing the documentation that makes that training repeatable
- Closing the feedback loop with the R&D teams — capturing field incidents, pain points, and feature requests, and feeding them back to motion, perception, and product teams so each Aru in the field makes the next one better
This position is hands-on and highly cross-functional: youll be the first person the customer calls and the first person the R&D team hears from when Aru meets the real world. As Nio scales its Early Adopter Program, you'll help shape the deployment playbook the rest of the field team will follow.
