Regional Product Support ECA Expert Overwrapping

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Automation Engineer to join the Overwrapping Product Support team for the Europe and Central Asia (ECA) region within the Service organization of SIDEL. This role is a unique opportunity to work closely with both our products and customers, supporting overwrapping equipment across its entire lifecycle, ranging from legacy to new-generation machines.

• Provide technical support and troubleshooting on SIDEL shrinkwrappers and associated equipment (automation-focused).
• Ensure operational follow-up and resolve technical issues via email, ticketing system, phone, and occasional onsite visits.
• Collaborate with Field Service Engineers (FSE), Installation Site Managers (ISM), Product Managers (PME), and Customer
• Care Managers (CCM) to ensure high-quality customer support.
• Manage and reduce non-conformities and warranty-related costs.
• Support project execution and service activities on customer sites when required.
• Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for automation-related issues and lead preventive and corrective action implementation.
• Drive automation retrofits on shrinkwrapper platforms.
• Create, maintain, and distribute technical documentation and troubleshooting guides related to overwrapping machines.

Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical assistance, field service, or engineering roles within the packaging machinery or industrial automation sector.

Proven knowledge of overwrapping machines and processes (SIDEL equipment knowledge is a plus).

Strong understanding of electrical and automation fundamentals, including : Safety systems, sensors, motion control as well as servo drives, inverters, PLCs, and HMIs.

Proficiency in PLC programming platforms: Siemens S7 / TIA Portal (SCL, Graph, AWL), B&R Automation or Rockwell Automation.

Experience with HMI platforms such as ZenOn, Citect, InTouch. Familiarity with motion control systems including Danfoss, Elau, B&R.

Fluent in English (both written and spoken) Additional languages, especially relevant to ECA region, are a plus.

Primary location: Office-based with some international travel required (site missions).
