The hotel

Langley Hotel Tango is located in Val Thorens, in the French Alps. The hotel is at the heart of the resort’s lively winter atmosphere, with reception, restaurant, and bar closely connected in the daily operation.

The restaurant and bar are a central part of the guest experience, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with regular après-ski and happy‑hour activity. The bar becomes especially busy in the afternoon and continues into the evening service, making close coordination between reception and the food and beverage teams essential.

General job description

As Reception Manager, you are responsible for the daily operation of the hotel reception and for leading the reception team.

You will ensure that the reception operates according to Langley’s standards, concept, procedures, and KPI targets. You will be responsible for delivering excellent guest satisfaction, supporting sales, managing staff costs, and ensuring that the Langley brand is reflected in every guest interaction.

This is a hands‑on management role. You will take an active part in the daily reception operation while also managing administration, schedules, staff development, and coordination with other hotel departments.

Key areas and responsibilities

• Develop and implement approved plans and objectives for the reception department.
• Ensure a consistent and high level of quality in accordance with Langley’s core standards.
• Lead, supervise, coordinate, and actively participate in the daily reception operation.
• Ensure professional handling of check‑ins, check‑outs, payments, invoicing, reservations, guest requests, and complaints.
• Be a visible and welcoming host for guests throughout their stay.
• Take responsibility for bookings, sales, and upselling within the department.
• Train, motivate, and follow up the reception team.
• Prepare and optimise the weekly schedule for the reception team.
• Ensure that reception procedures, manuals, and shift checklists are followed.
• Work closely with the Hotel Manager and the restaurant, bar, housekeeping, and kitchen teams to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Handle guest feedback and complaints professionally, ensuring appropriate follow‑up and resolution.
• Suggest and support activities, events, and guest initiatives that enhance the overall experience at the hotel.
• Ensure efficient communication between reception, guests, on‑site teams, and Langley head office.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Reception Manager, Reception Supervisor, or in a similar leadership role within a hotel or resort.
• Strong operational understanding of hotel reception, reservations, payments, guest service, and administration.
• Proven ability to lead, train, and motivate an international team.
• A hands‑on, structured, and solution‑oriented approach.
• Confidence working in a high‑tempo seasonal environment.
• Excellent English and French is required.
• Experience working in a multicultural environment is preferred.
• EU passport or a valid visa allowing you to work in France.
