Pump Technical Tender Engineer - Ingénieur Offres Techniques Pompes

Overview

The Pump Technical Tender Engineer is responsible for managing technical offers for pumps products inside the engineering department. He/She interfaces with other Engineering departments, Tender team, Quality departments and provide support for technical discussion with the customer. The Pump Technical Tender Engineer is in charge of ensuring the compliance of the technical offers according to processes and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Tender process:
  • R0 (Go / No Go): Technical support to the tender leader to prepare and animate the R0 gate review
  • R1 (Bid / No Bid): Technical support to the tender leader to prepare and animate the R1 gate reviews
• Bid preparation and analysis:
  • Analyze and comment customer requirements to ensure full understanding and applicability for Arabelle Solutions and its suppliers; identify technical and quality requirements impacting costing & design
  • Define the best technical solution proposal (optimal technical fit, performance, schedule) at the lowest cost
  • Provide technical leadership with cross functional teams
  • Lead the pumps sizing and provide input data to start product definition
  • Prepare the clarifications & deviations list
  • Propose innovative solutions to position products in commercial discussions and respond to customer needs
• Costing:
  • Prepare quotation packages (drawings, materials, quantities, weight list, ITP) with support of Quality, Design, Manufacturing and Sourcing
  • Participate in the technical analysis of the supplier’s offer and prepare a compliance matrix of key pump elements
• Technical offer preparation:
  • Prepare and/or coordinate technical documentation to be sent to customer (datasheet, pump curves, general and civil drawings, BOM, technical description note, etc.)
  • Ensure complete and accurate technical offers and project documentation within the given timeframe
• Handover to execution:
  • Contribute to the handover of the contract to the execution team (OTR)
• Return Of Experience:
  • Consider the return of experience from the execution team for consideration in the technical offer
• Interfaces:
  • Internal communication with Sourcing, Pump product Engineering, System Engineering, Sales team, Tender Leader
  • External communication: Present and defend the proposed technical solutions to the final customer

Qualifications

• Education: Master’s degree (mechanical and/or hydraulic)
• Trained in Nuclear Safety Culture
• Trained in ITNS-I/ITNS-A management and NS tagging (Important To Nuclear Safety - Item / Activity)
• Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in pump design/manufacturing

Knowledge and Skills

• Technical: Knowledge of rotodynamic and vacuum pump design; understanding hydraulic/mechanical performance factors
• Calculations: Pump performance calculations (head, flow, power, efficiency, cavitation, pre-design)
• Soft skills: Team player, dynamic, self-motivated, rigorous and flexible; strong written and verbal communication; decision making; planning and organizing

Applicable Standards

• Regulation or standard: Machinery directive; Pressure Equipment Directive; ISO 19443 (Nuclear safety)
• Hydraulic and mechanical pump standards: ISO 9905, ISO 9906, ANSI-HI9.8, CODAP / EN-13445, RCC-M

Language Skills

• Fluent in French and English
