Role and Facility Information

Vernon Jubilee Hospital (VJH) is seeking Psychiatrists interested in general psychiatry practice, with opportunities to further develop sub-specialty interests. Our cohesive team of eight dedicated Psychiatrists provides care across a 17-bed inpatient psychiatry unit, medical/surgical and emergency consultations, and community-based practices. Currently, there is a specific need for psychiatry support with the Adult Community Support Services (ACSS) team, which serves individuals living with serious and persistent mental illness through intensive case management.

In this role, you will enjoy a diverse practice with opportunities to work across both acute care and community settings, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care transitions. Within the community, you will play a vital role as part of the mental health team, providing outreach and telepsychiatry services across the North Okanagan region, extending from Vernon to Revelstoke.

As VJH is affiliated with the UBC Faculty of Medicine Southern Medical Program, you will also have the opportunity to teach and mentor medical students.

Leadership Development

Leadership Development Opportunities with Interior Health’s NAVIG8 Program. The NAVIG8 Emerging Physician Leaders Program is a comprehensive leadership development program designed specifically for physicians to address the practical leadership knowledge, behaviours and skills that high potential, emerging medical leaders require to step into leadership roles early in their careers.

Compensation

Compensation Type: Combination

Estimated Remuneration: $300,000 - $450,000, plus MOCAP level 2 Physician Overhead, Overhead costs associated with private practice only

Benefits and Incentives

Relocation Funding Available: $9,000 - $15,000 (applicable for 1.0 FTE positions; based on move location with eligible receipts. Part‑time opportunities may be eligible for a pro‑rated reimbursement; discuss with IH Medical Staff Recruiter). Incentives are subject to change and current rates are confirmed at time of offer.
