Prototype Surface & Paint Specialist

We are supporting the growth of an exclusive automotive project focused on low-volume, prototype and bespoke vehicle development.

We are currently looking for a highly skilled Prototype Surface & Paint Specialist with strong experience in premium automotive finishing, surface refinement and show-quality paint execution.

This is not a standard production painting role.

The position is focused on prototype, concept and handcrafted vehicles where attention to detail, manual correction skills and premium visual quality are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and refine vehicle surfaces to premium visual standards using sanding, filler work, shaping and manual finishing techniques.
• Correct and improve panel alignment, gaps & flush, and surface continuity on prototype and low-volume vehicles.
• Prepare composite and carbon fiber components for paint and finishing.
• Execute primer, paint, clear coat and polishing processes with exceptional attention to detail.
• Deliver show-car level finishes for presentations, media exposure and customer-facing vehicles.
• Collaborate closely with engineering and workshop teams to perform rapid corrections and refinements during prototype development phases.
• Identify surface defects and execute corrective actions to achieve the highest quality standards.

• High-end classic car restoration
• Coachbuilding and bespoke automotive projects
• Hypercar or prototype workshops
• Motorsport or composite finishing environments
• Show-car or concours-level finishing

Requirements

• Strong experience in automotive surface preparation and premium paint application.
• Experience working with carbon fiber and composite panels.
• Excellent polishing and finishing capabilities.
• Strong visual judgment and attention to detail.
• Hands‑on and adaptable mindset.
• Passion for exceptional cars and craftsmanship.

Highly Valued

• Experience with Ferrari, Porsche, Mercedes Classic, Aston Martin, Pagani, Singer, coachbuilders or equivalent premium environments.
• Experience in prototype or low-volume vehicle production.
• Portfolio / examples of previous work are highly appreciated.
