About The Role
We are seeking a Project Manager - Design & Construction (Electrical / Mechanical) to join our Engineering team in Marcoussis. Reporting to the Head of Engineering, this role acts as a key interface between central engineering experts (Electrical, Mechanical, BMS, etc.) and local project stakeholders including project managers, contractors, and construction partners. Your mission is to lead and coordinate design and technical activities for data center infrastructure projects, ensuring that approved electrical and mechanical solutions are properly implemented during construction and commissioning. You will support the successful delivery of complex data center projects on time, within budget, and in full compliance with DATA4 standards and local regulations.
Responsibilities
- Design & Technical Coordination
- Act as the main technical interface between central engineering SMEs and local project execution teams.
- Translate central design standards into clear technical requirements for contractors, engineering partners, and project managers.
- Monitor the implementation of electrical and mechanical designs during construction, identifying discrepancies and proposing corrective actions.
- Ensure alignment between design, construction, commissioning, and operational requirements.
- Identify and mitigate design-related risks impacting schedule, cost, or performance.
- Maintain clear and structured technical documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Technical Expertise & Stakeholder Management
- Provide technical expertise on critical infrastructure systems, including:
- Electrical power distribution
- UPS and backup power systems
- Mechanical cooling systems and thermal management
- Fire protection and safety systems
- Represent DATA4 in technical discussions with contractors, vendors, consultants, and external stakeholders.
- Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Oversee and maintain project technical documentation and design deliverables.
- Provide technical expertise on critical infrastructure systems, including:
- Project Delivery & Risk Management
- Support project managers in ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Participate in commissioning, testing and startup phases of critical infrastructure.
- Monitor compliance with engineering standards, safety regulations and quality requirements.
- Contribute to risk assessments and mitigation strategies for critical systems.
- Continuous Improvement
- Lead lessons learned sessions after project milestones.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of engineering standards and design processes.
- Identify opportunities to optimize design workflows, engineering tools and collaboration processes.
- Support innovation in data centre design and construction practices.
Requirements
- Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical background.
- 5-8+ years of experience in engineering, design or project management within:
- Data centres
- Critical facilities
- Industrial or high‑reliability infrastructure environments.
- Proven experience coordinating complex technical projects from design through commissioning.
- Fluent in English.
- Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of critical facility infrastructure, including:
- Power distribution systems
- UPS and generators
- Cooling systems and thermal management
- Fire protection systems
- Experience with commissioning and startup of technical installations.
- Knowledge of risk management and regulatory compliance.
- Familiarity with DCIM tools or infrastructure monitoring systems.
- Good understanding of project management methodologies and engineering best practices.
- Strong understanding of critical facility infrastructure, including:
