Electrical Commissioning Engineer – Data Centres – (Paris)

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Commissioning Engineer to join our team in delivering state‑of‑the‑art data centre projects. In this role, you will ensure that all electrical systems, including power distribution, backup systems, and control panels, are installed, tested, and fully operational according to design specifications, safety standards, and industry regulations. You will play a key role in ensuring that critical data centre infrastructure operates reliably and safely before handover.

Candidate Requirements

• Proven experience in electrical commissioning , preferably in data centres or critical infrastructure .
• Hands‑on experience with UPS, generators, switchgear, transformers, and control panels .
• Strong knowledge of LV, MV, and HV systems and power distribution networks .
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring, and single‑line diagrams .
• Skilled in using electrical testing equipment (megger, multimeter, clamp meter, phase sequence tester).
• Familiarity with PLC, SCADA, and control systems is a plus.
• Understanding of industry standards, codes, and compliance requirements .
• Willingness to travel to data centre sites for extended commissioning periods.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct pre‑commissioning inspections of electrical installations including switchgear, transformers, MCCs, UPS, and power distribution networks .
• Perform functional testing on systems like backup generators, UPS, PDUs, HVAC, and fire protection systems .
• Execute loop checks to verify signal and power connections.
• Lead system energisation safely and in a controlled manner.
• Troubleshoot and resolve faults using electrical testing tools and equipment .
• Perform protective relay testing, calibration, and verification .
• Monitor power quality, load distribution, and overall system performance .
• Ensure compliance with IEC, BS, NEC, and local electrical standards .
• Adhere to strict electrical safety procedures , including LOTO .
• Prepare commissioning documentation, test reports, and as‑built records for handover.
• Collaborate with mechanical engineers, project managers, and contractors for smooth multidisciplinary integration.
