Program and Event Coordinator
The Salt Spring Arts Council is seeking a very personable, organized, and detail-oriented Program and Event Coordinator to coordinate and develop vibrant arts programming that best supports our community’s artists and potential artists in a wide variety of artistic pursuits.
Reporting to the Executive Director, and working with committees and a lovely group of co-workers, the incumbent will coordinate a wide range of programs and events, including but not limited to the Artist in the Class, Grants & Awards, Community Initiatives, Spring Art Show, and Workshops. This position does not manage our Artcraft program.
The Ideal Candidate Will Offer:
- A strong familiarity with a range of arts and creative practices
- Experience in the coordination, delivery and management of programs, workshops and events
- Excellent interpersonal skills - demonstrated ability to collaborate with co-workers, a wide range of artists, volunteers and community stakeholders
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- High level of computer and digital literacy
The position is 20 hours a week from July 6 to Sept 30, and then 30 hours a week starting October 1. It requires the ability to work flexible hours including occasional evenings and weekends.
