Job Overview

Root For Change is a youth‑led organization (awaiting official 501(c)(c) status) that aims to address environmental issues. We hope to engage individuals in fun activities to help combat the environmental crisis and inform the public about environmental health. All roles are voluntary.

Eligibility

• Age 11 to 25
• Experience with event planning
• Active and organized
• Strong writing skills
• Will attend meetings with founders and board members

Available Positions

In‑Person Events Lead

• Plan and host in‑person events; at least one event every other month.
• Coordinate schedules with founders, collaborators, and speakers.
• Draft event proposals using provided templates (purpose, audience, setup, budget, etc.).
• Create Google Forms for sign‑ups.
• Lead a 2‑person event team to secure locations, materials, and partners.
• Set deadlines and clarify role responsibilities for team on event day.
• Collaborate with the Head of Marketing Operations for promotional content.
• Work with the Head of Financial Management to oversee and plan fundraising events.
• Coordinate with the Head of Volunteer Management regarding volunteer protocols.

Online Events Lead

• Plan and lead virtual events including workshops and panels via Google Meets; at least one event every other month.
• Coordinate schedules, collaborators, and speakers.
• Draft event proposals using templates.
• Create Google Forms for registrations.
• Lead a 2‑person event team for online event logistics.
• Collaborate with the Head of Marketing Operations for promotional content.
• Coordinate with the Head of Volunteer Management to update volunteers and record participants.

Online Projects Lead

• Organize long‑term online projects such as drives and challenges.
• Work with the Marketing and Volunteer Heads to execute projects (no event team).
• Fully remote position.

Hours and Recognition

Hours awarded: 6 hours per month.
