Responsibilities
- Understanding the market & target end users served by IAI products. Including centralised card & passport personalisation and the relevant integrators and Issuing Authorities
- Follows market trends and technology to stay aligned with current & future needs
- Performs VOC’s & turn insights into product requirements with actionable outcomes
- Maintain knowledge of the ID Market, Competition, the users & relevant technology
- Be the expert on the intent behind new products and features
- Own and maintain the product descriptions, GTM, positioning and EOL strategies
- Co-define with Sales and SC pricing/licenses strategies with value-based pricing
- Foster a culture of innovation and build strong inter department collaboration
- Attends Industry events and customer sites
- Collaborates with partners & Industry bodies
- Close alignment on Bids & Tenders
- Developing the product strategy and roadmaping in conjunction with Sales, PMM and Engineering. Owns, drives & maintains the agreed roadmap by working within IAI’s development framework for new ideas and innovation and throughout the product lifecycle (PLC)
- Active part of the PPI process that includes PMM & ENG, working together to define technical feasibility, commercial need & business priority when looking at the business case for Innovations & Ideas before becoming a development project. Including the relevance of Intellectual Property and market positioning of new ideas
- Define next releases for IAI products in conjunction with ENG and within the NPI PCP process and support ENG to develop new products, features and functionality. Follow up on development until the point of validation and first use at customers
- Support the continuous improvement of products (CPI) and be an active member of the change control board (CCB) & strategy for obsolescence and EOL planning
- Support the RFQ process for requests for new functionality and features to align with current product developments and next. To define the special requests within customer projects in collaboration with Project Management, Sales and ENG
- Support the application for WBSO funding linked to new innovative products. In collaboration with the Engineering and finance departments
- Being responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of IAI products. Supporting a product’s initial development and market introduction to eventual decline/withdrawal from market
- Define business cases for new products
- Works with cross-functional teams including PMM, Engineering and Sales and wider HID support teams such as central UX team, as required
- Discusses and works collaboratively with ENG Team leaders and DOE on roadmap projects and their progress
- Works in an agile environment and continuously reviews the business needs, refines priorities, outlines deliverables, captures and mages the data
- Informs the different stakeholders appropriately on the different parts of the product vision, strategy, features, and prioritisation
- Partners with sales for correct product messaging, go to market & value-based pricing
- Translates roadmap features into requirements including features, user stories, and acceptance test criteria. Based on sound business cases where needed
- Prioritizes and maintains the product backlog for assigned products in discussion with ENG and based on project needs
- Be the voice of the customer in developing, validating and testing products
- Leads on GTM plan, ensure that marketing & sales have what they need to succeed
- Support Sales & Marketing with customers & with presence at events to promote products
- Develops and maintains appropriate tracking and reporting of product performance post launch and to evaluate future investment and ROI
- Work with HID legal for IP related claims and submissions
Qualifications
- Greater than 3 years of Identity Industry experience
- Min 4 years in Product Management or Product Development & New Product Introduction (NPI)
- Proficient in English Language - Additional languages advantageous (Dutch / Spanish / Italian)
- Experience in launching products or services in partnership with engineering teams
- High degree of proficiency in prototyping, iterative development & Agile approach
- Existing experience of IAI products & services
- Balance of technical knowledge and business acumen with customer first, thinking
- Proactive, self-starter with excellent product management skills
- Ability to manage a wide portfolio with multiple product lines effectively
- Excellent & proven communication skills with the ability to engage, influence, and inspire through effective story telling
- High degree of organisation, ownership, initiative, and personal accountability
- Proactive mindset, eager to learn and develop, with openness to feedback
- Analytical approach to interpreting customer data on products & on user needs
- Effective cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder communication
- Familiarity with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Familiarity with JIRA & JIRA Product Discovery
- Value based pricing techniques
- Strong writing and structured thinking skills, with the ability to create clear requirements (e.g., PRDs), user stories and decision documentation
- Proven negotiation and conflict resolution skills, aligning Sales, Engineering and Marketing when priorities compete
- Data-driven product management approach, including analytics, KPI definition and dashboarding, and (where applicable) experimentation/A-B testing
