A+F Recruitment is partnering with an organisation in the financial services sector to recruit a Product Control Manager – Fixed Income & Derivatives. This is a key opportunity for a qualified finance professional with deep product control experience to join a collaborative and international finance team within a leading global bank.

The successful candidate will report to the Head of Management Reporting & Product Control and will take ownership of the daily P&L, valuation control, and balance sheet substantiation across trading activities – with a clear focus on fixed income and derivatives products.

Key Responsibilities:

• Produce and validate daily P&L for trading desks, including commentary and variance analysis
• Substantiate balance sheet for trading book positions, ensuring valuation accuracy and reconciliation
• Investigate and resolve P&L discrepancies, breaks and pricing issues
• Independently verify asset prices and conduct market conformity checks
• Participate in valuation control forums and review valuation adjustments, funding charges and fees
• Monitor effectiveness of hedging and collaborate closely with Treasury, Risk and Operations
• Support month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes
• Drive improvements through automation and data-led reporting enhancements
• Act as key contact for auditors and front office on trading book and P&L queries
• Ensure accounting accuracy in collaboration with the reporting team

Requirements:

• Extensive experience in Product Control within an international investment bank
• Proven knowledge of fixed income and derivatives products
• Solid background in Finance & Control, with hands-on exposure to P&L, valuation, and reconciliation
• Strong understanding of financial products, accounting standards (IFRS/HGB), and reporting processes
• Excellent analytical and IT skills, with the ability to challenge and explain complex issues clearly
• Professional demeanour with ability to work independently and cross-functionally

Desirable:

• Consulting experience only when combined with banking product control background
• Professional qualification
• Experience liaising with international teams and auditors
