Principal Consultant – Energy

We’re looking for a Principal Consultant – Energy to join our team in Paris, France in a hybrid working mode. This is a client-facing role focused on strategic engagement within the energy sector. You will leverage deep domain expertise in Upstream/Production and an established industry network to connect complex energy challenges with EPAM’s digital engineering capabilities. Acting as a trusted adviser, you will translate business problems such as production efficiency, OSDU adoption, asset integrity and decarbonisation into actionable technical solutions while driving account growth.

Responsibilities

• Leverage active relationships within the energy sector to identify and engage key decision-makers
• Navigate complex client organisations to establish connections with budget holders and influencers
• Act as a trusted adviser to senior client stakeholders, positioning EPAM as a strategic partner
• Provide consultancy on energy production workflows, including reservoir engineering, drilling and completions or production operations
• Lead workshops and innovation sessions to showcase digital technologies such as AI/ML, cloud, OSDU and digital twins
• Author thought leadership content and represent EPAM at industry events and forums
• Identify, qualify and shape new opportunities within client accounts
• Collaborate with solution architects to develop technically sound and commercially viable proposals
• Drive revenue growth by expanding EPAM’s presence into core engineering and production business units

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience in the energy sector, including at least 5 years in upstream/production
• Proven network of director or VP-level contacts within the energy industry
• Experience with a major consultancy or energy-focused firm
• Bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering, geophysics or business; MBA or master’s in engineering preferred
• Strong understanding of digital transformation in energy, including OSDU, predictive maintenance and remote operations
• Ability to carry a revenue target and drive business development initiatives

Nice to have

• Experience authoring white papers or presenting at industry conferences
• Familiarity with integrated asset modelling, production allocation and field development planning
