Plant Controlling Manager - Finance

AESC is the world’s leading battery technology company and lithium-ion battery manufacturer with battery plants in Japan, United Kingdom, United States and China. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of France’s highest profile manufacturing plants as AESC is building a new battery manufacturing plant in Douai, Hauts-de-France to support its business growth in Europe.

We are looking for a Plant Controlling Manager to join AESC France team to support the battery plant operation and development of a new world-class and innovative mass manufacturing Gigafactory. This is a unique opportunity to join one of the most exciting, large scale industrial developments in many years, where new and emerging technologies will be adopted in support of the rapidly growing electric vehicle marketplace.

Key responsibilities

• Responsible for overall plant operational and capex yearly budget and quarterly forecast (size >100m EUR / year)
• Deeply understand business spending and involved in headcount set up for production line
• Validate plant opex and capex spending and perform effective control
• Manage monthly closing steps (review accrual, set up inhouse cost allocation rules etc.)
• Perform timely, accurate and comprehensive analysis to management
• Set up the KPI improvement plan and follow up with all business managers
• Coordinate with corporate FP&A team for various management review and ad hoc reporting.
• Team management of 3 or 4 persons- training, development, and ongoing coaching of Finance staff

Experience and skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting. CMA/CPA preferred
• At least 10 years’ experience in manufacturing expense or cost controlling, preferably in car or chemical products manufacturing industry
• Ideally with experience in SAP and BI
• Knowledge of purchase process is a must, knowledge of standard cost is a plus
• With multi-national company experience is strongly preferred
• Ability to develop strong partnership / team building relationships within a cross functional environment
• Ability to fluently speak, read and write in English as a must
