Piping purchaser oil and gas

We are looking for an experienced Piping Purchasing Specialist to support a major international LNG project.

You will be responsible for the procurement of piping materials and manual valves throughout the purchasing cycle, ensuring commercial performance while maintaining close collaboration with engineering and project teams.

Main Responsibilities

• Manage RFQs and procurement activities for piping materials and manual valves.
• Prepare, issue and manage enquiries using company procurement tools.
• Negotiate commercial terms and conditions with suppliers.
• Manage supplier communications throughout the procurement process.
• Participate in supplier shortlisting and commercial bid evaluations.
• Prepare and issue Purchase Orders.
• Coordinate with Engineering to close technical and commercial clarifications.
• Manage purchase order amendments and change orders.
• Analyse supplier quotations and perform price benchmarking.
• Recover liquidated damages and back charges when applicable.
• Monitor supplier performance in collaboration with Vendor Performance Management.
• Close purchase orders and contribute to supplier performance evaluations.
• Ensure compliance with project procurement procedures and schedules.

Required Experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience in purchasing within the Oil & Gas industry.
• Previous experience on EPC projects is highly desirable.
• Strong experience purchasing:
• Piping materials
• Manual valves
• Bulk materials
• Experience managing international suppliers.
• Ability to manage multiple procurement packages simultaneously.
• Experience with supplier evaluations and procurement documentation.

Technical Knowledge

Experience with:

• Piping materials
• Valves
• API standards
• ASTM standards
• RFQs
• Purchase Orders
• Microsoft Excel

Knowledge of piping materials and API/ASTM standards is considered a strong advantage.

Languages

• French is an advantage.
