Indirect Buyer

Envision AESC is the world’s leading battery technology company and lithium-ion battery manufacturer with battery plants in Japan, United Kingdom, United States and China. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of France’s highest profile manufacturing plants as Envision AESC is building a new battery manufacturing plant in Douai, Hauts-de-France to support its business growth in Europe.

We are an ambitious organization looking for an equally driven and innovative Indirect Buyer to join the France Purchasing function. This role is critical in supporting business development and industrial ramp-up in a high-growth environment.

This position is a fixed-term contract.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic Sourcing & CAPEX Management : Develop and execute an optimal Indirect Strategy Plan with a primary focus on CAPEX (Production Equipment) and Spare Parts .
• Global & Local Synergy : Build and maintain strong connections with Global Purchasing to align on group strategies while aggressively developing the local French supplier base.
• Market Intelligence : Gather market intelligence for industrial commodities, identify major categories, and analyze spend to ensure competitive advantage.
• Project Delivery : Deliver the procurement strategy through robust supplier relationships across multiple projects, specifically focusing on Equipment installation, Spare Parts inventory, Energy, and Maintenance services .
• Tendering & Negotiation : Lead strategic proactive tenders. Execute complex negotiations for CAPEX procurement , focusing on cost challenges, comprehensive warranty terms, and favorable payment schedules.
• Contract Management : Increase control of Service and Maintenance Contracts to ensure "best practice" terms, avoid termination penalties, and secure Year-on-Year (YOY) cost reductions.
• Performance Metrics (QCD): Work with the Indirect Purchasing Manager and internal stakeholders (Engineering & Maintenance) to establish and deliver against Quality, Cost, and Delivery (QCD) KPIs.
• Operational Excellence : Manage day-to-day issues with plant personnel to ensure high quality and logistical performance. Support the Purchasing Officer in improving OTIF (On-Time In-Full) for indirect parts and consumables.
• System Integrity : Manage the release of Indirect Purchase Orders through the SAP system ensuring data accuracy and compliance.

Background and Experience Required:

• Master’s degree in Purchasing, Business Administration or equivalent, with at least 5 years of experience in an Indirect Purchasing role within a manufacturing/automotive environment .
• Proven track record in CAPEX (industrial machinery) and MRO/Spare Parts procurement is essential.
• Leadership: You hold strong leadership skills and are capable of influencing stakeholders, working to tight deadlines, and managing shifting priorities during a site launch/ramp-up.
• Communication : Excellent communication skills are crucial for building relationships with key internal engineering functions and external global suppliers.
• Industrial Awareness : Strong ability to investigate new supply markets to assess supplier capabilities, driving supply base rationalization and cost optimization.
• Language & Licensing : Professional fluency in English and French is required.
