People & Talent Intern – Job Description
Our mission is to revolutionize shopping. As a People Team member led by Dedorah (VP People), you’ll help build culture, processes, and tools that make Joko a place people love to work. You’ll work closely with all teams to run a seamless and data‑informed recruiting engine.
What You Will Do
As a People & Talent Intern, your mission is to help us hire smarter and faster while making every candidate interaction feel human.
Talent Acquisition & Data Insights
- Engage in the daily rhythm of hiring operations: crafting job descriptions, reviewing applications, scheduling interviews, coordinating feedback, and ensuring a smooth process.
- Maintain the ATS (Ashby) with precision, keeping data clean and reliable, and extract insights to guide better decisions.
Candidate Experience & Employer Branding
- Make every candidate journey memorable and authentic from first outreach to final feedback.
- Strengthen Joko’s employer brand by showcasing our people, values, and ways of working through storytelling, social media initiatives, and creative projects.
Recruitment Strategy & Continuous Improvement
- Drive strategy evolution by refining sourcing, identifying fresh channels to attract diverse profiles, and suggesting efficiency improvements.
- Analyze what works and recommend simple, actionable improvements.
Who We’re Looking For
- People‑oriented and value structure and creativity.
- Organized, proactive, detail‑focused, and adaptable in a fast‑paced environment.
- Committed to hiring that builds teams and culture, not just filling roles.
- Final‑year intern (end‑of‑studies).
- Currently pursuing a degree at a top business school, social sciences university, or a program with specialization in Human Resources or People Management.

- Have strong written and verbal communication skills in English and French.

Hiring Process
- Intro call: Quick screening with the Hiring Manager or Talent team.
- Step 1 – Team interview (45 min): Conversation with two Joko team members.
- Step 2 – Role‑specific assessments
- For non‑tech roles: Take‑home case study plus 45‑min interview.
- For tech roles: Live technical interviews including coding and system design; research internships may include additional review of a research paper.
- Step 3 – Leadership interview (45 min): Conversation with a SteerCo member and a Founder.
- References: Up to 3 calls with former colleagues or managers.
- Optional coffee with team members to get a feel for our culture.
