TAILORING PATTERN MAKER ATELIER – TOM FORD - CDI

Tom Ford is seeking a Pattern Maker – Tailoring, as part of an exciting new project to create an in-house atelier at our Paris Studio.

As a Pattern Maker, you will work in close collaboration with both the Creative and Development team, contributing to the creation of high-end collections that embody the distinctive style and standards of Tom Ford.

Responsibilities:

In collaboration with the Creative and Development team, you will:

• Develop initial toiles (half or full) from sketches, adapting techniques based on garment type.
• Be proactive and contribute to upholding and developing the excellence of Tom Ford’s products and creativity
• Translate design ideas into precise and high-quality patterns, ensuring consistency with the creative vision.
• Propose appropriate finishings in line with design expectations and fabric characteristics.
• Assess the feasibility of studio requests and offer alternative solutions when needed, considering cost and industrialization constraints.
• Draft the pattern if required; collaborate with the cutter to determine optimal fabric placement; create templates when necessary.
• Check patterns and their variations before proceeding to cutting or sending them to external suppliers.
• Implement any modifications on garments based on feedback from the Creative Direction, using notes and photos from fittings.
• In preparation for launches: scan patterns, complete technical sheets and bills of materials (indicating required quantities, interfacing, grainline, special threads or thread contrasts if applicable).
• Review garment construction to ensure it aligns with industrial production constraints, without compromising quality.

Key Requirements:

• This role requires a high level of autonomy and close collaboration with the seamstress to ensure precision and quality throughout the production process.
• Proven experience (minimum 6 years) in a pattern-making role within a luxury or couture environment.
• Solid knowledge tailoring techniques, with ability to work across a variety of garment types and materials.
• High level of precision, technical expertise, and aesthetic sensitivity.
• Strong sense of organization, attention to detail, and problem-solving attitude.
• Discretion, professionalism, and a passion for excellence.
• Fluent in English, Italian is a plus
