Cassiopi is a human-sized French and European Intellectual Property firm (around fifteen people, including six partners), with its patent office in Castelnau-le-Lez, just outside Montpellier, and its trademark and design office in Nîmes.

We support innovators — from start-ups to large groups — across the full IP value chain: patents, trademarks, designs and contracts. Our patent team of French and European patent attorneys manages a portfolio spanning electronics and telecommunications, computer science and software, mechanical and civil engineering, medtech and biotech, and IoT, AI and blockchain.

The role

To strengthen our paralegal team, we are looking for an experienced IP paralegal with an excellent command of English. Working closely with our patent attorneys and alongside our existing paralegal team, you will:

• Handle patent formalities and filings, mainly before the EPO and WIPO (EP direct filings, PCT applications, entries into regional and national phases);
• Monitor and manage official deadlines, docketing and renewals with full reliability;
• Prepare, check and file official correspondence and legal documents (powers of attorney, assignments, priority documents, formal requirements);
• Communicate daily in English with foreign associates, international clients and IP Offices — drafting letters, reporting official actions and instructions;
• Manage client records, invoicing follow-up and administrative coordination with our foreign agent network;
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of our internal procedures and tools.

Your profile

• Significant experience as a Patent paralegal , in a private practice firm or an in-house IP department;
• English at C1/C2 or native level is essential — a large part of your written and spoken communication will be in English; fluent French is also required for daily life in the team;
• Solid knowledge of EPO and WIPO procedures, online services and deadlines;
• Outstanding rigour, organisational skills and attention to detail — deadlines are at the heart of the job;
• At ease with IP management/docketing software and standard office tools;
• Team spirit, discretion and a service-minded attitude towards clients and attorneys alike.

A paralegal certification (e.g. CEIPI paralegal diploma, EPAC or equivalent) is appreciated but not mandatory if compensated by experience.
