POSTE / MISSIONS

Purpose

To manage and supervise all offshore substation activities during the commissioning and early O&M phase of the EMYN wind farm, ensuring safe operations, HSE compliance, and effective coordination across all offshore teams and stakeholders.

Reporting line & team context

You will report to the Construction Manager and Commissioning Manager, and work in direct coordination with the Offshore Maintenance Coordinator, HSE representatives, offshore technicians, and subcontractor teams operating on the OSS and across the wind farm.

Success looks like

  • All OSS operations executed safely and in full compliance with HSE and regulatory requirements
  • Commissioning milestones met on schedule with no major incidents within scope
  • Offshore teams well-coordinated with clear daily priorities and method statements in place
  • Permit to Work system applied rigorously across all offshore activities
  • Emergency response capacity maintained and tested throughout the campaign

Key Responsibilities

Team leadership & methods management

  • Coordinate daily activities of offshore teams, ensuring compliance with HSE protocols, project schedules, and quality standards
  • Oversee the creation and execution of risk-assessed method statements for OSS and offshore operations
  • Conduct performance reviews, provide structured feedback, and identify areas for team development
  • Organise and deliver training sessions to maintain skills and regulatory compliance

Offshore operations

  • Ensure all offshore activities adhere to EMYN safety policies and applicable industry regulations
  • Conduct safety inspections, audits, daily toolbox talks, and Permit to Work reviews
  • Monitor operations on the OSS, identify process improvements, and work to minimise downtime
  • Lead emergency response coordination and organise offshore emergency drills
  • Act as primary interface between offshore vessels, client representatives, and the on-site team

Stakeholder coordination & reporting

  • Participate in monthly coordination meetings with the client, covering contract performance, scope evolution, and lessons learned
  • Attend ad-hoc meetings and workshops as required by the client
  • Provide regular progress reports and operational updates to project management

PROFIL RECHERCHÉ

Education

  • Engineering degree or equivalent technical qualification in electrical, mechanical, or offshore engineering
  • Formal offshore safety or operations management qualification is an advantage

Experience

Must-have

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in offshore operations, with a proven track record in senior supervision or management roles
  • Experience as OSS Manager, PICOSS, or equivalent on offshore wind or energy projects
  • Demonstrated ability to lead offshore teams and manage subcontractors in a multi-discipline environment
  • Experience implementing and enforcing Permit to Work systems and HSE protocols offshore

Nice-to-have

  • Previous experience on French offshore wind projects
  • Familiarity with commissioning phases of large-scale offshore substations

Technical Skills

  • Strong understanding of offshore electrical systems and substation operations
  • Knowledge of offshore HSE regulations and Permit to Work frameworks
  • Ability to read and interpret technical procedures, method statements, and risk assessments
  • Familiarity with emergency response planning and offshore safety management

Certifications — mandatory

  • Valid Offshore Medical Certificate
  • Basic GWO Training
  • GWO Enhanced First Aid
  • GWO Advanced Rescue Training
  • French State CCMM
  • Rigging and Lifting Course (LOLER or CACES)
  • Actsafe Power Ascender Training
  • Electrical Certification H0-B0

Soft Skills

  • Strong authority and leadership in high-pressure offshore environments
  • Clear communication across multicultural and multi-discipline teams
  • Structured approach to planning, risk management, and incident response
  • Fluent English required; French is an advantage given the project location
