Position Overview
The Senior Data Processor is responsible for the acquisition, processing, quality control, and delivery of offshore survey and positioning data. The role requires extensive offshore field experience and the ability to operate independently in demanding marine environments. This is a field-based position where offshore operations constitute the primary scope of work.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and validate hydrographic, geophysical, positioning, and navigation data acquired during offshore operations.
- Perform real‑time and post‑processing quality control of survey datasets.
- Monitor data quality and ensure compliance with project specifications and client requirements.
- Configure, operate, and troubleshoot offshore data acquisition and processing software.
- Produce daily processing reports and quality control documentation.
- Support survey teams by identifying data anomalies and implementing corrective actions.
- Ensure proper data management, backup, and secure transfer of project deliverables.
- Collaborate closely with Party Chiefs, Surveyors, and Client Representatives on board.
- Maintain compliance with company HSE policies and offshore operational procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of proven offshore experience as a Data Processor.
- Strong practical experience in offshore survey operations.
- Proficiency with industry‑standard processing and survey software.
- Good understanding of hydrographic, positioning, navigation, and geophysical data workflows.
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues under operational constraints.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication and reporting abilities.
- Fluent in English (French considered an advantage).
Preferred Competencies
- Experience with subsea construction, cable laying, pipeline, or geophysical survey projects.
- Familiarity with GNSS positioning systems, USBL/LBL systems, motion sensors, and survey instrumentation.
- Ability to work efficiently within multidisciplinary offshore teams.
- Flexible and capable of working on rotational offshore assignments.
