Mission Success Manager

We are partnering with a rapidly scaling space-tech company developing next-generation Earth observation capabilities and secure, real-time communications from orbit. With strong commercial traction and ambitious growth plans, the company is now strengthening its technical leadership to support industrialisation and scale.

They’re now looking for a Mission Manager to take full ownership of customer missions, from early technical discussions through onboarding, validation, and handover to operations. This is a hands‑on, cross‑functional role of space systems, communications, software, and customer success.

You’ll define connectivity solutions, coordinate testing and integration, and act as the technical and operational function for each mission. Above all, you’ll ensure customers get a solution that works and works well..

Key Responsibilities:

• Partner with Sales early in the customer journey to understand technical requirements and assess mission feasibility
• Define mission architectures, including ground station networks and communication parameters
• Perform mission and link analyses to validate end-to-end space-to-ground performance
• Coordinate regulatory and licensing activities related to ground stations
• Lead customer onboarding, including software environment deployment with Infrastructure and RF teams
• Support API integration and oversee radio integration and mission testing
• Plan and execute acceptance tests, dry runs, and data pipeline validation
• Own mission documentation: configurations, test results, decisions, and feedback
• Act as the main technical point of contact for customers throughout onboarding
• Manage expectations around timelines, dependencies, regulatory constraints, and readiness
• Represent the customer internally, ensuring their needs and constraints are understood across teams
• Drive a smooth handover to operations with clear documentation and alignment

Requirements:

• An Engineer with a strong background in telecommunications
• Solid experience with: Link budgets, TM/TC and mission data downlink architectures
• End-to-end space-to-ground communication chains
• A good understanding of how missions actually run
• Comfortable assessing mission feasibility and trade-offs quickly and pragmatically
• Comfortable with Python for analysis, tooling, or automation
• Exposure to cloud architectures or modern infrastructure stacks is a nice-to-have
• Proven ability to lead technical projects or missions and keep momentum across teams
