Your work environment

Reporting to the Europe and Middle East President, the Merchandising Director is responsible for setting long-term product direction for all categories. They will be accountable for category sales, subcategory balance and inventory management in Retail in Europe and Middle East and must direct the brand effectively to build customer loyalty and ensure a consistent brand message.

Your impact

• Lead building of brand and the product
• Manage the market process/business results for the Europe & Middle East Retail
• Drive the overall product strategy for all categories and markets for Women & Men.
• Forge a strong connection with the Central Merchandising & Collection Merchandising team on product line plans & collection launches.
• Proactive mindset requesting markets needs to identify and articulate impactful ideas that are brand appropriate, distinct, fashionable, and financially viable.
• Partner closely with Marketing/Clienteling and Visual Merchandising to create programs to drive traffic and sales.
• Facilitate the three-year line plan and lead & control the retail price positioning & strategy.
• Monitor product results and adjust, pilot and react to the market and results, keeping team focused on relevant data and communicating across the organization.
• Control competitors’ best practices and being strong on proposition for business opportunities to come (for future pop ups or opening).

• Set direction for long range business strategies and/or opportunities (e.g., brand, market share growth, profitability)
• Accountable for strategy execution, cross-functional teamwork, and results for the category.
• Determine priorities, roles, and responsibilities for team members.
• Coordinate local teams (Retail Directors and stores) and cross-functional activities to ensure strategic alignment.
• Promote a strong sense of urgency for reaching goals and meeting deadlines
• Facilitate needed organization changes.
• Hold others EME team counterparts accountable for results.
• Direct, manage, coach and evaluate entire team and proactively mentor them.

• Organize and articulate trends into merchandising initiatives.
• Clarify and communicate vision, mission, and long-term goals to others.
• Identify the needs of each market independently

• Communicate message
• Partner with Central team on brand essence.
• Set strategic direction for presenting the Brand.
• Consistently communicate the big picture business implications to others

Profile

Minimum of 10 years+ relevant work experience in retail environment and with regional exposure. Strong analytical ability - both quantitative and qualitative. An expertience in RTW is necessary. Strong computer skills. Good interpersonal and communication skills. Pleasant, self-initiative, a team player & willing to learn. Highly adaptable and flexible to accept new ideas and procedures. Organized; meeting deadlines.
