PRONœ is an ocean CO2 removal startup based in France. We restore the ocean’s natural capacity to permanently remove CO2 from the air in a sustainable, scalable, and asset-light manner. We develop and deploy automated water treatment systems that safely turn the liquid discharge of coastal industries into less acidic, more alkaline flows within current regulations. The result is high-quality CO2 removal, valorization of otherwise wasted effluents, and local ocean acidification mitigation.

Context

Under the supervision of the CTO, you will be a part of our Research and Development team, focusing on process development and optimization. You will manage projects on ion transport membranes, such as electrodialysis, including mathematical and numerical modeling, experimental analysis, and automatization. Thus, help PRONœ achieve critical milestones in our technical development.

Main Missions

• Design and optimize electrodialysis, membrane, and clarification processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional actors to ensure seamless integration of various unit operations.
• Collaborate with the R&D team to develop mathematical, mechanistic, and numerical models.
• Lead experimental efforts to validate process models.
• Analyze experimental data, identify trends, and propose improvements.

Education

Degree in chemical, mechanical, or process engineering (Eng., MSc, PhD).

Relevant Experience

Membrane technologies, electrodialysis, filtration, clarification, data processing, mathematical modeling and optimization, project management, and conducting scientific research.

Relevant Industries

Chemical, environmental, biotechnology, wastewater treatment, water treatment, food, and mining.

Skills and Behaviours we expect

• Proficiency in scientific English, good writing, and oral communication skills are necessary.
• Technical skills: Experience in membrane technologies (e.g., electrodialysis, filtration), process modeling, data treatment tools (e.g., Matlab), analytical chemistry, and automation systems.
• Autonomy, Flexibility and Adaptability are a must, together with a results-oriented mindset.

Practicalities

Full-time Open-ended (CDI) position based in Les-Loges-En-Josas (78) with potential travels in France and Europe.

Competitive compensation (salary and equity), based on seniority and experience.
