Job Overview
The Datacenter Technician may be the primary point of contact for both internal customers such as Network Engineers, Systems Engineers, Software Developers, etc., and external customers including Hardware Vendors, Contractors, and Service Providers. The Media Technician is responsible for conducting sanitization and liquidation of commercial data center equipment, coordinating and communicating across multiple operations teams.
Key Responsibilities
The Media Technician will perform sanitation and liquidation tasks for commercial data center equipment, maintain accurate inventory tracking, manage asset lifecycle state changes, and physically remove equipment as required. The role demands effective coordination and communication with multiple operations teams while adhering to internal data handling policies.
Qualifications
- Strong technical aptitude and situational awareness.
- Bias for action and excellent communication skills.
- A working understanding of server-grade hardware.
- A basic understanding of networking hardware.
- Proven experience in problem solving and addressing customer service-related issues by collaborating with other internal teams toward a shared objective.
- Ability to safely lift and/or move up to 18 kilograms unassisted; participation in group lifts over 18 kilograms or more in tight and elevated spaces.
- Local travel within the Paris, Île-de-France region may be required.
- Experience with process improvement and ability to deploy identified improvements to the field.
- Capacity to operate effectively in high-pressure, time-sensitive situations while firmly adhering to internal data handling policies.
