We are looking for a Materials Process Engineer to join our R&D team to develop innovative materials and surface treatment processes for electronic applications.
Responsibilities
- Materials & Process Development: select materials (e.g., polymers, metals) and surface treatments for new electronic product development, collaborate with external partners for materials research and pilot process development, ensure materials qualification through internal lab testing, support industrialization with quality and manufacturing teams, optimize manufacturing processes for reliability and performance, ensure compliance with environmental and regulatory standards (RoHS, REACH) and support life cycle analysis (LCA).
- Technical Expertise & Innovation: act as an internal technical reference for materials science, support cross‑functional teams on new developments, collaborate with suppliers for material selection, validation, and performance optimization, monitor technological trends, identify innovative materials/processes, and propose solutions offering improved performance or cost efficiency.
- Communication & Reporting: communicate effectively with internal teams, external partners, and management to ensure smooth project execution, prepare clear technical reports and presentations, and share project progress with stakeholders.
Qualifications & Profile
- Education: Master’s Degree (M2) or equivalent in Materials Science or Surface Engineering.
- Experience: 3–5 years in materials development and/or surface treatment industrialization for electronic applications; experience coordinating or supervising laboratory technicians is an advantage.
- Technical Skills: polymer material science (thermosets, adhesive films), metals characterization, surface/interface analysis (adhesion, surface energy, roughness, peel strength, SEM/EDX), coating & surface treatment processes (electroplating, Physical Vapor Deposition – PVD, chemical treatment).
- Soft Skills: excellent communication, teamwork, problem‑solving, organizational abilities, adaptability, and critical thinking.
- Language: fluent in English and French; knowledge of an additional language is a plus.
