Overview
Local Marketing Specialist – France (Retail & Brand Activation)
Location: Paris & Inner Suburbs
We are looking for a Local Marketing Specialist to help grow brand visibility and customer engagement in the French market for a fast-growing international brand in the smart home / consumer technology sector.
This role sits at the crossroads of local marketing strategy, retail activation, PR, and communication . It is important to note that this is not a pure digital or performance marketing role; digital channels are used as a supporting tool within a broader, activation-led marketing scope.
Note: Profiles mainly focused on performance marketing, paid media, digital acquisition, or pure social media roles are not the best fit for this position.
Key Responsibilities
Local Marketing Strategy & Execution
- Build and execute the local marketing strategy and action plan in line with regional and group objectives.
- Develop and manage a local marketing calendar (product launches, promotions, key commercial moments).
- Manage local marketing budgets, including vendor invoicing and reimbursement processes.
- Track, analyse, and report on campaign and retail KPIs, sharing insights with regional stakeholders.
- Work cross-functionally with marketing, sales, and supply chain teams to ensure smooth execution.
- Report regularly to the Country Manager on project progress and performance.
Digital Marketing (Supporting Role)
- Contribute to local digital marketing activities, including website updates, content publishing, and basic analytics.
- Support social media execution as part of the overall marketing plan (not the core focus of the role).
- Design and execute channel marketing and retail activations with distributors, e-commerce, and retail partners (online and offline).
- Coordinate POS materials, in-store promotions, and branded items with key accounts and local suppliers.
- Support sales teams with marketing tools and content such as brochures, product highlights, and training materials.
- Conduct regular store visits, providing structured field feedback and reporting.
PR, Influence & Events
- Act as the main point of contact for PR agencies and media partners.
- Manage press releases, interviews, and media events.
- Coordinate influencer activations when relevant to key commercial moments.
- Organise and support trade shows, partner trainings, and customer events.
Content Quality & Brand Consistency
- Ensure content quality and brand consistency across partner platforms (product pages, banners, brand spaces).
- Maintain and update French website and app content, including translations and quality checks.
- Manage marketing assets (product sheets, videos, brochures) shared with partners and clients.
Candidate Profile
- Native French speaker with fluent English (spoken and written).
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or Business .
- 5+ years’ experience in local, retail, or field marketing.
- Experience in high-tech, smart home, or consumer electronics is a strong advantage.
- Proven hands-on experience with retail activation, PR, POS, and events .
- Strong project and budget management skills.
- Comfortable using tools such as Canva or Photoshop, Google Analytics, Excel, and ChatGPT .
- Good knowledge of French marketing regulations and GDPR .
- Results-driven, customer-focused, and highly organised.
- Willing to work from home with regular in-person meetings and store visits .
- Strong interest in technology and smart home products .
