Position Overview

We are currently recruiting for a Machine Shop Supervisor to join our Paris team!

Responsibilities

• Supervise and provide leadership to all employees involved in Machining to effectively meet company goals and objectives.
• Manage resources within the area of responsibility to ensure staffing and equipment levels match business activity levels.
• Assign jobs according to priorities to maintain scheduled completion dates, utilizing the most appropriate machines and employees for efficient production.
• Coach and motivate employees and look for new ways to continually improve operations through focused efforts and initiatives.
• Work with the machine shop lead hands and process technicians to drive continuous improvement.
• Orient, train and instruct all employees in the safe and efficient performance of their duties.
• Promote, maintain, and enforce a safe and healthy work environment for all employees in accordance with legislative requirements and company standards.
• Coordinate maintenance efforts to ensure the safe and efficient operation of equipment.
• Provide employees with an annual performance evaluation and effective corrective counseling if necessary.
• Manage throughput effectively, using outsource machining as required to ensure customer deliveries are met.
• Comply with company policies and procedures including the health and safety management program.
• Perform additional responsibilities as required and appointed by management.

Experience, Skills & Education

• College diploma or technical experience.
• Must be a certified Machinist with a minimum of 5 years of proven experience as a department head, supervisor, or lead hand and be able to work any shift.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing methodologies and their application is an asset.
• Experience with milling, large engine lathes, and saws; CNC experience is considered an asset.
• Technical machining background in a manufacturing workplace.

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation is negotiable based on experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $36.00-$42.00 per hour

• Manufacturing Supervising: 5 years (required)
• 429A General Machinist Designation (required)
