You have a strong technical background in the underwriting of P&C Insurance business especially in travel business and are looking for a position in an international environment contributing to the commercial success of a dynamic team.
Lead P&C underwriter

Context
Within the Insurance Department of the Europ Assistance Group, you will play a key role in shaping the underwriting strategy, driving profitability, and managing the B2B2C insurance portfolio mainly on device protection, Cyber, Health portfolios and Mobility. Serving as the central expert, you will lead risk assessment, pricing decisions, and product governance, while ensuring alignment with internal policies and regulatory standards. In this strategic position, you will work closely with actuarial, pricing, product development, distribution, and claims teams to support sustainable growth and long-term profitability. You will report directly to the Global Head of Pricing and Underwriting.
Responsibilities / Tasks
Manage the Pricing Process of our international tenders
- Evaluating the risk properly; understanding specificities of the opportunity; leveraging existing databases or existing segmented pricing models.
- Interacting with the Sales team to make the best possible offer for the partner.
- Presenting the proposed pricing structure, expected profitability and areas of concern to the Underwriting Committee and in some occasions, to the partner in collaboration with the Sales team.
- Contribute to the building of standardized pricing tools across all business lines, ensuring consistency of methodologies, assumptions, and pricing frameworks.
Manage the underwriting Committee
- Validate pricings done by local EA entities in accordance to the Group underwriting guidelines.
- Challenge action plans taken by local EA entities on their unprofitable accounts.
- Definition of pricing adjustments where applicable or other levers to steer profitability.
- Coordinate with the Irish Branch of the Europ Assistance Group to share analyses on the profitability of the Travel International portfolio.
- Accompany the sales teams to present technical performance of the program during Annual Business Reviews.
- Contribute to Group initiatives for product catalogue creation and pricing standardization, two key prerequisites for the implementation of the new core insurance platform.
- Support the development of new products (e.g., cyber PPI…).
- Ensure compliance with Product Oversight & Governance (POG) requirements and Group product standards.
Data Management & profitability Steering
- Support the definition and maintenance of high‑quality data foundations for pricing, underwriting, and profitability monitoring.
- Partner with Data, IT, and local teams to improve data quality, completeness, and availability across markets (claims, exposure, segmentation variables, booking windows, etc.).
- Contribute to the design of standardized data models and data governance rules to enable consistent pricing and monitoring across all business lines.
- Ensure proper documentation of pricing datasets, assumptions, and methodologies.
- Support the development of automated data pipelines and dashboards to accelerate pricing processes and enhance decision‑making.

Education or equivalent experience
- Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, or related area.
Skills / Knowledge / abilities
- You have a strong technical background in actuarial science or insurance.
- Your technical knowledge has been supplemented by 7-10 years of prior experience in the underwriting of property and casualty insurance business.
- You are willing to work in an international environment in close collaboration with the commercial team and willing to be exposed to our partners.
- You have a good level of English (the Group's language of exchange).
- Organized and autonomous: you will have to manage different topics and activities at the same time.
- Excellent analysis and synthesis capabilities; ability to communicate technical results to an audience with a different background.
- Proactive and relationship building oriented, driven by curiosity and personal initiative.
