Key Responsibilities
- Lead the mechanical design of parts, assemblies, and systems using SolidWorks, ensuring compliance with functional, regulatory, and manufacturing requirements.
- Own and execute Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), ensuring proper documentation, impact analysis, approvals, and implementation.
- Support products from concept through production, sustaining, and end-of-life, addressing field issues, manufacturability improvements, and cost-reduction initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with Electrical, Firmware, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical designs with internal electronics.
- Generate and maintain detailed engineering documentation including drawings, BOMs, tolerances, GD&T annotations, specifications, and design reports.
- Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on design robustness, manufacturability (DFM/DFA), quality, and cost optimization.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior and mid-level mechanical engineers.
- Support supplier technical discussions, manufacturing builds, prototypes, and root cause analysis for production or field issues.
Technical Requirements
- Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks for part design, assemblies, drawings, and design reviews.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, materials, tolerances, and manufacturing processes.
- Formal GD&T certification with demonstrated application in production drawings.
- Experience managing engineering changes using structured processes and tools.
- Experience designing mechanical products with internal electronics (PCBs, connectors, cabling, thermal considerations).
- Familiarity with ERP/PLM systems such as SAP and/or ECTR (nice to have).

Education
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
10+ years of experience in mechanical engineering roles, preferably in industrial or electro-mechanical products.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience working in regulated or industrial environments.
- Exposure to Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Experience supporting global manufacturing sites and suppliers.
- Familiarity with design reviews, FMEA, and risk-based design approaches.
