The OECD, or the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, is an international organization comprised of 38 member countries. It works to build better policies, promote evidence‑based international standards, and address social, economic, and environmental challenges worldwide.

The Directorate for Communications (COM ) carries out its functions in line with the OECD Communications Strategy and Annual Communication Plans. It steers organisational efforts on strategic priorities, supports policy directorates in their communications to specialised audiences, and leads corporate level media, social media, stakeholder and parliamentary engagement. It also manages the Organisation’s online presence and disseminates OECD publications while handling risk identification and management in the public sphere.

Within the Directorate, the Strategic Communications and Outreach Division (SCO) develops comprehensive communications plans, amplifies key priorities to policy audiences and the public, and coordinates corporate engagement with stakeholders. The division works closely with communicators across the Organisation to achieve its objectives.

COM seeks a Junior Digital Outreach Officer to support the day‑to‑day operation of the OECD’s media dissemination and external web presence. The candidate will manage media products distribution, maintain web pages for journalists and stakeholders, coordinate stakeholder outreach products, and assist with social media and multimedia support.

Main Responsibilities

Team collaboration

  • Contribute to an agile, collaborative and supportive culture and promote accountability among colleagues.

Digital publishing and content management

  • Daily manage the dissemination of OECD media products to traditional and non‑traditional journalists via the web and media tools.
  • Maintain and update web pages relevant to journalists, parliamentarians, civil society, and other stakeholders.
  • Apply editorial processes and approval workflows in the OE display's web content management system, coordinating with other teams to share knowledge and ensure best practices.
  • Review, edit, and write content for publication as requested in collaboration with Units across the Division.

Stakeholder outreach and digital communications

  • Coordinate production and dissemination of Division stakeholder outreach products, including social media newsletters and messaging channels.
  • Support maintenance of stakeholder distribution lists and outreach tools.
  • Promote OECD publications, events and key messages through digital channels.

Social media and multimedia support

  • Coordinate closely with the Division and Directorate to support use of social media, multimedia and related tools.
  • Assist with planning, preparation and dissemination of content for OECD’s corporate social media channels.

Media coordination and operational support

  • Support media engagement activities, maintain media lists, coordinate outreach and assist with media‑related events.
  • Assist in other Division work such as media and stakeholder engagement events as appropriate.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Academic background

  • University degree in digital or mass communications, public relations, or political science.

Professional background

  • 2–4 years of recent experience in outward‑facing media or stakeholder engagement.
  • 2–4 years of experience in administrative support roles.
  • 2–4 years of experience with web content management systems and digital publishing processes.
  • 2–4 years of experience coordinating multiple workflows and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Prior experience in an international organisation or public service setting is an advantage but not required.

Core competencies

  • Expectation to demonstrate behaviours aligned with six core competencies: Vision and Strategy (Level 1); Enable People (Level 1); Ethics and Integrity (Level 1); Collaboration and Horizontality (Level 2); Achieve Results (Level 1); Innovate and Embrace Change (Level 1).

Languages

  • Fluency in one of the OECD official languages (English or French) and knowledge of the other, with a commitment to reach a good working level.
  • Knowledge of other languages is an asset.

Closing Date

  • Applications should reach the OECD no later than midnight on August 12, 2026 (Paris time).

Contract Duration

  • 12‑month fixed‑term appointment, with possibility of renewal up to a maximum of 36 months.

What the OECD offers

  • Monthly salary starting at €4,638.76, plus allowances based on eligibility, exempt from French income tax.
  • Staff Regulations applicable to OECD officials and new contractual modalities starting July 1, 2025 (details available on the OECD website).

  • Appointment may be made at one grade lower in the specified job family, based on qualifications and experience.
  • The vacancy may be used to create a pool of candidates for comparable positions, both for open‑ended and fixed‑term functions.

Selection Process

For retained candidates, the selection process may include a video‑recorded interview, job‑based assessment and panel interviews.
