IT/OT Data Engineer (H/F)

Job Summary

The IT/OT team implements and enforces standards and policies, designs, deploys, and supports regional and business‑area specific solutions. The Data Engineer collects, stores, and manipulates manufacturing data and builds architectures that enable Data Scientists and Analysts to perform their work.

Responsibilities

• Roll out projects designed by the IT/OT team and the group (e.g., standard data collection via OPCUA, Industrie4.0 projects).
• Connect the shop floor and ensure continuous data collection to enable the move to Imerys Smart Factory.
• Collect, contextualise, clean, and prepare raw, structured, and unstructured data for analysis using OPCUA data‑model capabilities.
• Organise comprehensive data sets and develop large‑scale processing systems.
• Build, test, and maintain database architectures; align architecture with business requirements.
• Use a variety of languages to ensure systems communicate effectively.
• Build data pipelines, track pipeline stability, and monitor overall performance.
• Build algorithms and prototypes; prepare data for predictive modelling.
• Work with AWS services; conduct complex data analysis and report results.
• Collaborate with data scientists and architects on multiple projects.
• Identify opportunities for data acquisition and optimise data reliability, efficiency, and quality.
• Escalate conflicts within projects; manage support levels2 and3.
• Interact with infrastructure teams to ensure application portfolio performance.
• Create exploitation manual documentation for the industrial applications portfolio.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in automation, information systems, or engineering.
• 5years of professional experience in application management and industrial digital platforms.
• Experience implementing, migrating, managing, and operating systems/applications and local industrial interfaces.
• Strong knowledge of automation solutions and IIoT, plus business knowledge in an industrial environment.
• Good understanding of application architecture.
• Experience with AWS data analytics.
• Fluency in English; ability to work in French or another European language is an advantage.
• Desirable: experience with data lake/data warehouse environments; experience in multidisciplinary team management.
• Machine‑learning or AWS data‑analytics certification is a plus.
