IRIS2 Governmental Service Engineer H-LEO
Job Overview
The Governmental Service Engineering – LEO Layer role is key to shaping and overseeing the technical aspects of IRIS² governmental services within the Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite layer. Working closely with the corresponding MEO role and under the coordination of the Service Engineering Officer, this position ensures that services are designed, specified, and delivered to the highest standards. Activities include engaging with customers (ESA/EC), designing service concepts, defining performance indicators, drafting operational models, and collaborating with the System Architecture Team to ensure seamless service delivery and monitoring.
Key Responsibilities
- Define Service CONOPS and Requirements
- Develop and maintain detailed Concepts of Operations (CONOPS) and service models for the LEO layer.
- Support the definition and evolution of the Service Catalogue.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (System Engineering) and stakeholders (EC, EUSPA) to ensure alignment across operational concepts.
- Co‑develop and refine Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), including measurement methodologies and target values.
- Ensure consistent KPI definition and application across all project streams.
- Develop Service Requirements
- Translate high‑level service performance goals and CONOPS into clear technical requirements.
- Define provisioning and monitoring frameworks to guarantee service stability, scalability, and reliability.
- Lead Service Stream Evolution (LEO Layer)
- Contribute to the effective use and integration of LEO satellites.
- Update and maintain the Service Implementation Plan.
- Contribute to the Governmental Product Catalogue to ensure ongoing alignment with market needs and technological advancements.
Where You’ll Work
Ideally based in one of Eutelsat Group’s headquarters within the European Union: Paris, France or Turin, Italy.
