IoT Solution Architect

What you’ll do

As IoT Solution Architect, you will consult enterprise customers in the design of connectivity solutions for various applications and industries. You will use your technical expertise, familiarity with the customer and Vodafone business environment, and propose solutions based on Vodafone’s managed connectivity and IoT solution portfolio. You will drive the solution from pre‑sales through implementation and deployment. This is a customer‑facing role requiring regular travel to customer sites.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with regional Business Development and Key Account Management in pre‑sale activities and qualification of sales leads.
• Act as a technical consultant to Vodafone’s customers, advising, proposing and designing solutions that meet customer needs.
• Assess technical solution complexity and deliverability within Vodafone’s IoT platforms and network capability at both global and regional level.
• Lead presentation of IoT solution designs and workshops based on Vodafone’s managed connectivity and IoT solution catalogue, highlighting Vodafone’s differentiators.
• Support the sales process from pre‑sales through RFP/bid, contract sign‑up, implementation, deployment, acceptance testing and sign‑off.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation in line with customer requirements and business capability, achieving customer technical solution approval.
• Produce clear and succinct RFI/RFP answers for winning bid responses.
• Support customers during deployments, testing, operation of new feature deployments, and manage technical change requests.
• Liaise with internal delivery teams and drive solution design and testing through to completion.
• Travel 25% within France and Europe as required.

Qualifications

Technical / Professional Expertise – Essential

• BSc, MSc or equivalent in IT/EE.
• Knowledge of cellular 3GPP / LPWAN / satellite radio technology, radio‑coverage aspects for IoT.
• Detailed knowledge of data communication, network, software application and IT technologies.
• Strong technical/pre‑sales background.
• Customer relationship management skills, able to engage at Director level.
• Strong communication and decision‑making skills, able to balance conflicting interests.
• International experience and cultural awareness.
• Hands‑on knowledge of the broader IoT market.
• Experience in complex change management in a technological context.
• Team player with strong influence and relationship‑management skills.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, flexible environment.
• Fluent in French and English.

Desired

• Certified CCNA, CCNP or equivalent.
• Experience within a multinational mobile network operator.
• Knowledge of billing systems for telecoms.
• Knowledge of specific markets such as utilities, automotive, finance, manufacturing, oil and gas, or consumer electronics.
• Knowledge of IT security.
• Knowledge of electronic device design, testing, manufacturing and global supply chain.
• Multi‑lingual skills.
• Self‑starter with determination to succeed, balanced with tact and diplomacy.
