ATMOS Space Cargo is seeking a Software Simulation Engineering Intern to support the development of subsystem simulation models for the Phoenix2 spacecraft programme. You will work within a multidisciplinary engineering team, helping to model hardware interfaces, implement simulation logic, and validate behaviour in our Software in the Loop (SIL) environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the analysis of subsystem ICDs and User Manuals to understand hardware behaviour.
- Assist in developing C++-based simulation models within the existing simulation framework.
- Contribute to Java-based SIL test scenarios to verify simulation fidelity.
- Collaborate with systems and hardware engineers to ensure accurate model behaviour.
- Help document simulation architecture, assumptions, and test results.
- Participate in troubleshooting and integration activities across simulation and embedded platforms.
Required Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Basic programming experience in C++ and/or Java.
- Interest in simulation, embedded systems, or aerospace applications.
- Ability to interpret technical documentation such as ICDs.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving mindset.
- Attention to detail and willingness to learn aerospace‑grade documentation practices.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with SIL environments or embedded system testing.
- Exposure to Git or other version control systems.
- Interest in ECSS, DO178, or similar engineering standards.
