Insurance Practice & AI Reasoning Contributor

The opportunity

IXO is engaging US-based insurance professionals to turn practical workflows and judgment into useful AI training and evaluation material. Contributors work in the specialties they know best. Underwriting, claims, actuarial work, risk management, brokerage, compliance, reinsurance and policy or product practice are all relevant routes.

What you will do

• Design realistic cases involving risk assessment, underwriting decisions, claims handling, policy interpretation, coverage analysis, actuarial pricing or reserving, or regulatory review.
• Build structured reasoning examples that show the decisions an insurance professional makes and the evidence needed to support each step.
• Compare AI-produced answers for accuracy, sound judgment and consistency with the applicable regulations or professional standards.
• Explain errors and incomplete reasoning in clear written feedback, including why the answer would need to change in the stated circumstances.
• Work asynchronously with research colleagues, making your assumptions and conclusions sufficiently explicit for another person to review them.
• Expected outputs include scenario materials, reference reasoning, evaluations of model answers and practical recommendations for improving the task or response. A practitioner can contribute deeply in one area; covering every insurance specialty is not required.

Intended applicant profile

The ideal profile includes three or more years of professional insurance experience with a carrier, broker or agency, reinsurer or advisory firm, together with a relevant bachelor's degree. You should be comfortable with common industry systems, including policy-administration, claims or rating platforms and Excel, and have strong writing skills and attention to detail.

CPCU, ARM, AINS, CLU, AIC, ACAS/FCAS, ASA/FSA or a state adjuster or broker license is preferred, not mandatory. The actuarial and insurance-license routes are alternatives within this broad practice profile.

Engagement and pay

Advertised remote US pay is $80/hr USD. Describe your practice area, specialties and any certifications through IXO; a short experience summary or work sample may help establish fit.
