Vessel Operations Engineer

We are looking for a Vessel Operations Engineer to ensure the coordination and management of marine operations in compliance with project specifications and operational requirements.

Education & Training

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Offshore Engineering, or a related field.
• Formal training in offshore operations, marine logistics, or installation engineering is an advantage.

Responsibilities

Working under the supervision of a manager and in coordination with multiple disciplines, the Vessel Operations Engineer will perform the following tasks autonomously:

Technical & Operational Management

• Be responsible for all technical and operational aspects related to the vessel package (schedule, logistics, engineering documentation, method statements, etc.).
• Review and follow up on technical documentation (procedures, installation methods, drawings).
• Oversee subcontractor engineering activities when required.

Preparation & Coordination

• Prepare material and service requisitions (technical specifications, Scope of Work, MTO, TBE, etc.).
• Participate in risk assessments and provide recommendations.
• Coordinate mobilization of resources onboard vessels (personnel, equipment).

Offshore Operations Management

• Manage vessel operations including mobilization, demobilization, and offshore execution.
• Supervise subcontractors during installation campaigns (onshore and offshore).
• Act as Project Operations Engineer by coordinating vessel activities during preparation and execution phases.

Interface & Reporting

• Ensure effective communication between project teams, operations, and stakeholders.
• Monitor progress and report key information to management.

Experience

• Experience with offshore structures, installations, and offshore operations (preferred).
• Good understanding of marine operations and engineering processes.
• Experience with SAP system (highly appreciated).
• Ability to interface effectively with project teams (discipline engineers, Asset department, etc.).
• Knowledge of vessel mobilization, offshore installation, and logistics activities.

Soft Skills

• Ability to work independently with regular reporting.
• Strong coordination and communication skills.
• Analytical mindset with risk assessment capabilities.

Languages

• Fluent in English and French.
