Infrastructure & Platform Architect
The Team
You join a technical team building and operating a platform across cloud, hosted and on-premise environments. You work closely with the CTO, DevOps engineers and tech leads in a technically rich environment combining health data, HPC, distributed services and data pipelines. Your main contact will be the DevOps Lead to define and operate a robust, distributed platform to absorb the oncoming growth of the client portfolio.
What You'll Do
- Design the infrastructure platform.
- Define pragmatic architectures for compute, networking, storage, containers and shared platform services.
- Standardize infrastructure. Define reusable patterns and technical standards that can be implemented and automated by the DevOps team.
- Design for operations. Ensure architectures are observable, maintainable, scalable and recoverable, keeping HPC compatibility in mind.
- Integrate security by design. Cover network segmentation, IAM, secrets, TLS, encryption and least-privilege principles.
- Plan for failure and growth. Define high availability, backup, disaster recovery, capacity and lifecycle strategies.
- Stay hands-on. Review configurations, prototype solutions and help investigate complex infrastructure issues.
- FinOps. Control costs on the platform and optimize spendings.
- Document decisions. Maintain architecture diagrams, standards and technical decision records.
