Reporting to the EE Head of Indirect Taxes at Stellantis, you will be the primary contact for internal and external indirect tax matters in France, manage the review of indirect tax compliance, review and optimize indirect tax processes and flows, implement indirect tax policies and execute Stellantis indirect tax strategy.
This position will be required to support the business in an evolving legislative environment and will require a high level of technical and personal skills to adapt and collaborate with colleagues and partners in several geographical locations and functional areas.
Main Responsibilities
- Handle tax queries from business stakeholders and operational teams as well as from other members of the Tax Team; provide fast and accurate VAT advise and act as main point of contact for indirect taxes in France.
- Assess the potential impact of indirect tax legislative changes; provide updates to the business and coordinate with relevant stakeholders to implement changes.
- Develop a process to manage and coordinate the review of indirect tax compliance for the Stellantis French companies and VAT registrations perimeter as well as Stellantis non-French entities with VAT registrations in France. This would include assessing and improving quality and ensuring all indirect tax requirements are met.
- Prepare Indirect Tax returns or review Indirect Tax returns drafted by others. Make sure that returns are filed timely and any potential questions from the tax authorities are answered within set deadlines.
- Lead and provide the necessary support on implementation of systems as well as Electronic Invoicing in France.
- Supervise Indirect Tax Intern - delegate, coordinate and review the work done by Intern.
- Support with foreign VAT claims.
- Manage VAT determination for new or changed flows impacting Stellantis French entities and/or impacting French territory. This includes identifying potential indirect tax implications and system improvements.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with indirect tax requirements (e.g. quick fixes requirements, and invoicing requirements), define documentation requirements and record keeping policy and set guidelines, policies and procedures for smooth implementation by business teams.
- Support executing indirect tax strategy and planning; support the VAT aspects linked to global or regional business projects; manage indirect tax audits.
- Support with SOX and other tax related risk reporting.
- Provide training to relevant stakeholders (Business, Finance, SAP teams) on Indirect Tax requirements.
Our requirements
- A Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Law, Accounting or Economics
- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience on VAT acquired both as in-house professional as well as in the VAT department of a leading international Accounting or Tax Firm.
- A good knowledge of the French and European VAT law, as well as knowledge of finance and accounting are required.
- Team player with project management capabilities, good IT and Excel skills. Experience with SAP preferred.
- Dynamic, creative, innovative with strong practical problem resolution.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal with the ability to explain complex issues in an easy and understandable manner to all levels of employees in organization.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are required.
- Strong sense of responsibility and ownership, pro-activeness, ability to work independently and to introduce own ideas and process improvements.
- Fluency in French and English – written and spoken; additional European languages are a plus.
