Job Summary
The Inbound Supervisor/Team Leader will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing daily inbound logistics operations, leading a team of associates to ensure efficient and accurate processing of incoming goods within JD.com's warehouse facilities.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate, train, and manage a team of inbound associates, fostering a productive and positive work environment.
- Supervise all inbound activities, including receiving, unloading, sorting, put-away, and quality control of incoming shipments.
- Ensure adherence to all safety protocols, company policies, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) within the inbound department.
- Monitor and manage team performance, including productivity metrics, quality standards, and attendance, providing regular feedback and conducting performance reviews.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce errors, and optimize inbound workflow.
- Collaborate with other departments (e.g., outbound, inventory management, transportation) to ensure seamless flow of goods and resolve operational issues.
- Handle and resolve escalated issues related to inbound operations, including damaged goods, discrepancies, and associate concerns.
- Maintain accurate records of inbound activities, including receiving logs, discrepancy reports, and team performance data.
- Operate and oversee the use of warehouse equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and scanning devices, ensuring proper and safe operation.
- Assist in scheduling and resource allocation to meet daily operational demands and fluctuating volumes.
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; a Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in a supervisory or team leader role within a fast-paced warehouse or logistics environment, specifically in inbound operations.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team of warehouse associates.
- Strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control principles.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and high-pressure environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to operate various material handling equipment (e.g., forklift, pallet jack) with certification preferred.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
- Physical ability to lift and move packages up to 50 pounds regularly and stand for extended periods.
