Job Description Summary

PCS is a leading provider of electrical systems and services for power conversion and storage applications, operating across industrial and utility segments. Within PCS, the South Europe‑Middle East‑Africa (SEMEA) region is a growing P&L with 1,200 employees and spans the full value chain – from rotating machines and power electronics to integrated system solutions – serving customers for new equipment and services across the region, including two factories (rotating machine and power electronics).

Responsibilities

  • 1. Inbound Logistics Management • Organise, plan and execute all inbound logistics flows for components from suppliers to factories and for subcontracts, including MilkRun when needed.• Manage intermediate storage locations in coordination with the Site Logistic Lead.• Define standard logistic flows and help contract with preferred forwarder.• Oversee import clearance processes, ensuring timely customs release and full documentation compliance.• Define price list for storage cost per sqm.
  • 2. Outbound Logistics for Equipments • Own the end‑to‑end outbound logistics process for equipment sold to customers.• Develop and manage logistics strategies in partnership with commercial and sourcing teams.• Optimize transportation flows across all modes, balancing cost, lead time, and risk.• Assess country‑specific logistics and customs constraints, duties, taxes, Incoterms and execution risks.• Establish SLAs with freight forwarders, carriers and logistics service providers and hold them accountable.• Coordinate last‑mile logistics to remote, offshore and restricted‑access project sites, including handling oversized cargo.• In execution phase (OTR), partner with Project Managers, Sourcing & Procurement to optimise schedule and cost.
  • 3. Customer Site Delivery • Own the end‑to‑end outbound logistics process for equipment, spare parts and specialised tooling dispatched to customer sites.• Ensure logistics readiness for planned and emergency interventions, maintaining expedite capabilities for urgent deliveries.• Oversee temporary exports, site returns and reverse logistics flows (repair, refurbishment, scrap).• Coordinate last‑mile logistics to remote, offshore and restricted‑access project sites, handling dangerous goods, oversized cargo and temperature‑sensitive equipment.• Partner with Field Service, Project Managers and Site Logistics to align delivery schedules with maintenance windows and outage programmes.• Establish and maintain a logistics contingency and emergency response plan.
  • 4. Customs & Trade Compliance • Develop, implement and maintain the Regional Customs & Trade Compliance framework.• Ensure full compliance with customs regulations across all jurisdictions, including duty management, VAT/indirect tax treatment and customs bond management.• Manage ATA Carnet programme and temporary admission regimes for tooling and equipment.• Lead the implementation and maintenance of the AEO trusted trader programme.• Oversee export controls, dual‑use goods screening and sanctions compliance in partnership with Legal and Compliance teams.• Act as the principal liaison with customs authorities, freight forwarders and third‑party customs brokers; manage audits and inspections.• Drive a proactive duty optimisation strategy and maintain trade compliance policies and procedures.
  • 5. Warehouse Management for Spare Parts and Tooling • In partnership with key stakeholders, define and implement an optimisation strategy for warehousing spare parts and tooling needed for customer site interventions.
  • 6. Financial & Performance Management • Own the regional logistics costs, including freight, customs duties, logistics provider fees and warehousing.• Provide competitive project costing in the commercial (ITO) phase and optimise cost in the execution (OTR) phase.• Identify and deliver logistics cost‑reduction initiatives through network optimisation, carrier negotiations, duty relief mechanisms and process improvements.• Define, track and report logistics KPIs (on‑time delivery, freight cost per shipment, customs clearance cycle time, compliance rate, emergency shipment rate, etc.).• Conduct regular logistics spend analysis and present actionable insights to the Regional Head of Supply Chain.
  • 7. Stakeholder Engagement & Team Leadership • Lead, develop and inspire a regional logistics and customs team, setting objectives and driving accountability.• Serve as the executive escalation point for all logistics and customs issues impacting project delivery.• Engage proactively with Project Directors, Factory Logistics Leaders, Field Service Managers and Customer Account teams.• Represent the organisation in trade compliance forums, industry bodies and government consultations relevant to the region.• Build and maintain relationships with key government agencies to facilitate smooth operations.• Collaborate with Legal, Finance and HSE to ensure logistics activities meet contractual, financial and safety obligations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor or master’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 12 years of progressive experience in logistics, freight and customs management, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Demonstrated expertise in international trade compliance, customs regulations and import/export procedures across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Proven track record managing complex, multi‑country logistics operations in industrial, energy, oil & gas or engineering project environments, for heavy equipment.
  • Experience managing third‑party logistics providers and customs brokers, including contract negotiation and performance management.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing significant logistics and customs budgets.
  • Familiarity with ATA Carnet, temporary admission, inward/outward processing and bonded warehouse regimes.
  • Proficient in logistics technology platforms (TMS, visibility tools, ERP logistics modules) and strong analytical and reporting skills.
  • Excellent command of English; French proficiency is a significant advantage.
  • Ideally, experience with AEO (Authorised Economic Operator) certification or equivalent trusted trader programmes.
  • Knowledge of dual‑use export controls and international sanctions compliance.
  • Experience with field service logistics and customer site intervention models in the industrial or energy sector.
