Country HR Director France
The Country HR Director for France acts as the primary strategic and operational leader for the Human Resources function within the French market. This role is crucial for the co‑creation and alignment of the People Strategy with regional and global business objectives.
In close collaboration with the Chief People Officer (HQ), Global Retail Management, and primarily the Regional CEO (direct reporting), the Country HR Director defines, implements, and oversees the HR strategy that will drive growth, engagement, and talent development in France. The role requires proactive leadership in integrating the corporate culture, ensuring excellence in HR service delivery throughout the entire employee lifecycle, while maintaining full compliance with French labor law.
Key Responsibilities
- Talent Acquisition & Onboarding : managing the full end‑to‑end recruitment process, from defining job profiles to final selection, conducting proactive sourcing strategies to build a pipeline of high‑caliber talents. Overseeing the onboarding journey.
- Talent Management & Development : Supporting implementation and monitoring performance management frameworks. Identifies training needs. Analyzes workforce data to provide insights on retention and talent mobility.
- HR Operations & Payroll Administration : Responsible for back‑end payroll activities in close collaboration with external payroll providers, ensuring accuracy in data transmission and compliance with statutory requirements.
- Employee Relations & Compliance : Acts as the lead expert on Employee Relations, managing complex cases, including grievances, disciplinary procedures, and performance improvement plans.
Requirements and Skills
- Advanced knowledge of French Employment Law and HR best practices;
- Proven experience in managing HR operations within the French market;
- Minimum 8 years experience within the Retail and Luxury sectors is highly preferred;
- Strong analytical skills with a focus on payroll data and HR metrics;
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders;
- French and English is a must, Italian is a plus.
