Job Summary

This role can be based in Singapore or Hong Kong. The Hive Lead is accountable for shaping and driving the strategic direction of a Hive, ensuring multiple squads and journeys deliver cohesive outcomes that align with Group and Domain priorities.They hold delegated authority to align backlogs, resolve cross‑squad dependencies and steer delivery governance to maximize value at scale.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and transform Digital Asset (DA) product capability to provide digital channels for clients and internal users across Private Banking and Retail Banking.
  • Drive agile technology projects to establish a robust price discovery and execution platform.
  • Build system interfaces with upstream (e.g. client information check) and downstream systems (e.g. booking trades into core banking platforms) to streamline operation flow and improve user experience.
  • Define and own the strategic digital product vision and roadmap for the wealth management product suite.
  • Align product strategy with business goals, market trends, and client needs, ensuring competitive and compliant products.
  • Lead a team of Product Owners, collaborate with architects, business stakeholders and development teams to meet business, quality and functional goals.
  • Translate Group and Domain strategy into Hive outcomes by aligning product roadmaps, squad delivery and regulatory standards.
  • Mentor and coach senior Product Owners, uplifting product ownership capability within the Hive.
  • Drive alignment to the One Delivery model, enabling consistent customer experiences, optimized capacity and delivery efficiency.
  • Embed Hive strategy into product roadmaps and squad backlogs that map to the end‑to‑end customer journey.
  • Shape and prioritize Hive backlog, ensuring squad roadmaps contribute to domain strategic outcomes and organisational scorecard priorities.
  • Provide transparency on Hive delivery by measuring and communicating outcomes against OKRs, scorecards and benefit realization metrics.
  • Oversee delivery progress, resolve cross‑squad dependencies and risks, and anticipate systemic impediments that constrain productivity.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for senior business leaders, technology partners and external stakeholders on Hive priorities and outcomes.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation and an agile mindset across squads and stakeholders.

Product Leadership, Engagement & Strategy

  • Champion the voice of the customer and maintain a clear, compelling North Star for the Hive.
  • Instil a high‑performance culture and true self‑organising teams, empowering squads and celebrating achievements.
  • Drive an outcome‑over‑output mindset, encouraging focus on customer value and measurable results.
  • Empower Product Owners to make decisions within guardrails defined by compliance, architecture, regulatory and standards.
  • Create a psychologically safe and trusting environment where innovation and candour are valued.
  • Invest in the growth of Product Owners through coaching, peer learning and capability building.
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders such as Domain Leads, Engineering Leads and UI/UX designers to influence outcomes.
  • Translate Group and Domain strategy into actionable backlogs that coordinate squad effort and Hive trade‑off.
  • Ensure that strategic investments include non‑functional priorities (security, performance, resilience, regulatory compliance, technical health).
  • Accountable for ensuring compliance and risk adherence of products and services.

Product Discovery and Experimentation

  • Champion a culture of evidence‑driven decision making and safe‑to‑fail experimentation.
  • Encourage technical discovery studies to maximise existing investments and develop complementary, scalable, cost‑efficient solutions.
  • Promote cross‑domain learning to enrich the discovery phase.
  • Embed continuous discovery and experimentation as a core Hive practice, translating insights into strategic roadmaps and shaping long‑term direction.
  • Allocate capacity and resources for testing critical assumptions before committing large‑scale delivery investments.

Product Delivery and Execution

  • Champion continuous improvement at Hive scale, leveraging retrospectives and insight to uplift delivery maturity.
  • Maintain oversight of Hive backlogs, ensuring squad priorities align to strategic outcomes, and resolve dependencies and governance standards.
  • Ensure transparency of delivery flow, surfacing risks, dependencies and bottlenecks at Hive level.
  • Mandate and govern delivery standards, including engineering practices, testing consistency and non‑functional requirements.
  • Synchronise planning and delivery cadences across squads to drive cohesion and predictability.
  • Define and track Hive‑level delivery metrics, holding squads accountable for value delivery, quality and timeliness.
  • Safeguard compliance, risks and architectural requirements as non‑negotiables.
  • Promote incremental, outcome‑driven delivery with smaller, testable releases.
  • Embed Change Delivery Standard (CDS) and Group’s Enterprise Software Delivery Lifecycle (eSDLC) into all product lifecycles.

Product Analytics and Benefit Realisation

  • Define and monitor Hive‑level benefit metrics and OKRs, ensuring delivery outcomes translate into measurable business and customer value.
  • Establish governance for benefit realisation tracking, embedding consistent methods for measuring impact across squads.
  • Ensure investment decisions are informed by data, requiring squads to demonstrate expected benefit upfront and validate them post‑delivery.
  • Provide senior stakeholders with clear reporting on realised benefits versus planned outcomes.
  • Adapt Hive strategy based on insights, using analytics to refine priorities and maximise long‑term impact.

Technical Capabilities and Excellence

  • Champion technical excellence by defining and governing Hive‑wide engineering and architectural standards.
  • Sponsor capacity for technical debt remediation and refactoring to sustain delivery alongside feature build.
  • Monitor technical health using metrics such as system performance, incident occurrences and resilience.
  • Encourage innovation under guardrails, piloting emerging tools and technologies while ensuring compliance and scalability.

Domain Knowledge

  • Establish a secure, institution‑grade digital asset platform with regulated access and governance.
  • Provide curated, compliant access to tokenised products, digital custody and blockchain‑enabled solutions.
  • Build a safe on/off‑ramp ecosystem integrated with traditional portfolios and risk management.
  • Strengthen surveillance, compliance and risk controls for emerging asset classes.

Our Ideal Candidate

  • 8+ years of experience in a global diverse organisation building overall capability and technical expertise.
  • Good understanding of capital market products, especially Digital Assets.
  • Experience in industry benchmarking for technical skills.
  • Experience identifying skill gaps and mitigating risks to deliverables.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Previous experience as a Product Owner or similar role in banking product delivery using an agile framework.
  • Customer‑centric mindset with a passion for delivering high‑quality products that meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Strong understanding of Agile principles and methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams.
  • Analytical mindset, prioritising competing demands, making data‑driven decisions and adapting to changing priorities.
  • Leadership qualities, capable of influencing and motivating team members in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Knowledge of product management tools and techniques such as user story mapping, personas and MVP.
  • Familiarity with SDLC processes and methodologies (a plus).
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and proactive approach to addressing challenges.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g. PSPO I, PSPO II, CSPO).
