Project Engineer - Heavy Civil Terra Site Constructors

We have an immediate need for a Project Engineer with experience working on Heavy Civil projects. The position is responsible for reviewing design and bidding documents, evaluating contractor bids, and overseeing construction progress and scheduling. They provide technical support to the construction staff under the supervision of the Project Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Review plans and other technical documents.
• Provide accurate and timely cost estimates on projects.
• Review plans and construction documents to ensure they are complete and consistent.
• Monitor costs and project progress on an ongoing basis.
• Develop and maintain/update project records regularly.
• Ensure project schedules are maintained and adhered to, assist in resolving scheduling conflicts and issues.
• Handle project closeouts.
• Ensure required permits are obtained and in place.
• Assist in resolving conflicts between owner, contractor, and subcontractor.
• Manage and negotiate change-orders.
• Develop site safety plan and ensure documentation/reporting is in place.
• Work with vendors in pricing, ordering, and ensuring delivery of materials.

Education, Experience and Other Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction or Civil Engineering.
• 1‑3 years of experience working in a Heavy Civil Construction environment.
• Excellent computer skills, i.e., Procore, Microsoft Office and other applicable software programs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail, problem solving skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Ability to work independently.
