To support our client's needs, we are searching for an experienced Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Supervisor with confirmed background in Chemicals and/or Oil & Gas environment. You will oversee HSE activities for the construction, inspection, and commissioning of chemical storage tanks while helping to drive a proactive safety culture in the field.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily HSE activities during the construction, modification, testing, and commissioning of chemical storage tanks.
- Validate risk assessments, Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), method statements, and permit-to-work documentation.
- Oversee critical activities including confined-space entry, hot work, working at height, heavy lifting, and pressure testing.
- Conduct regular site inspections, safety audits, toolbox talks, and verify proper use of equipment and PPE.
- Monitor exposure to hazardous substances and ensure correct handling, storage, labelling, and waste disposal.
- Investigate near misses, track corrective actions, and maintain accurate HSE documentation and statistics.
- Support emergency-response planning, lead safety drills, and exercise stop-work authority when immediate risks arise.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or technical qualification in OHS, Engineering, or Environmental Science, coupled with a recognized HSE certification (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA).
- Relevant HSE experience in chemical, petrochemical, oil and gas, or related process industries.
- Demonstrated experience supervising HSE activities during chemical storage tank construction, with familiarity in standards like API 650/653.
- Strong understanding of chemical hazards, process safety principles, permit-to-work systems, and specialized tank construction activities (welding, NDT, hydrotesting).
- Ability to manage contractors on active sites, enforce safety compliance, and verify proper equipment and PPE usage.
- Skilled in reviewing technical documentation, conducting risk assessments, performing incident investigations, and leading emergency responses.
- Languages required : French + English proficiency.
