Head of Manufacturing

Our client, a growing pharmaceutical organisation, is seeking an experienced Head of Manufacturing to lead site operations and manage a team of approximately 100 employees.

This is a key leadership position with full responsibility for manufacturing performance, ensuring the delivery of high-quality products in line with GMP standards, while driving continuous improvement and operational excellence across the site.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the manufacturing organisation, building a high-performing team across production and support functions
• Take full ownership of manufacturing operations, ensuring delivery against production, quality, and compliance targets
• Ensure ongoing GMP compliance and maintain a high level of audit readiness
• Drive operational excellence initiatives to improve efficiency, throughput, and cost performance
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Quality, Supply Chain, Engineering, and MS&T
• Oversee deviation management, investigations, and CAPA implementation
• Define and execute manufacturing strategy, including capacity planning and resource optimisation
• Manage departmental budgets and support long-term site growth initiatives

Candidate Profile

• Strong leadership experience within pharmaceutical manufacturing, managing large teams
• Solid understanding of GMP and regulatory requirements, with audit exposure
• Proven ability to drive operational performance and continuous improvement
• Experience in scaling or optimising manufacturing operations is advantageous
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related field
